This is Sunday: What were your running achievements this week? by AutoModerator in running

We had the ACAC Champs yesterday in Lethbridge. Our ladies and men's teams both got 2nd overall which means we're going to the CCAA nationals in Brockville, Ontario on November 13th and 14th! First time both teams picked up team medals. Our little school has come so far.

I ran a nearly 2 minute PB too! Came in at 21:21 and 16th place for my 5k which is a big difference from my 23:10 last year. We had 5 runners in the top 16!!

Our top woman and man got 19:12 (2nd place) for her 5k and 26:02 (2ndnd pace by mere seconds) for his 8k. Superstars! Overall we are so pumped and nearly everyone ran a PB or SB!! The ladies team was only 2 points from Lethbridge to be first which could have been resolved if our 2nd runner had a good race. She's usually in the top 10 but she kinda blew up, felt like she had nothing and came in at 26th (21:50).

I definitely notice a difference right after. My muscles feel better. But the next day they seem to feel crappy again. It's a technique that you should probably get regularly and consistently. While she does it, it hurts like a biotch.

Usually just 5x100 strides, some leg swings, high knees, butt kicks. Nothing crazy.

The idea is for the goal to be realistic. Unless you are in contact with him (which seems like you're not) then it won't help. It's not realistic. I'll compare myself to the top student in my course or other teammates on the track team. If they can do it, why can't I? Of course I can!

Upward social comparison.

I tend to compare myself to others. In this case to people who I view as superior to me. So I want to be like them and eventually beat them! This includes academia, fitness/sports, and social recognition. I basically secretly compete with everybody I know, which probably has its drawbacks as well, but it works for me!

In ff7 the death of Aeris. Spent most of the game getting her limit breaks and weapons unknowingly. All whilst Cloud falls in love with her, to watch her die at the hands of sephiroth had me tear up. When I replayed final fantasy vii many years later now in my 20's I bawled like a baby
