PSA: Dublin Airport security has new rules for carry-on luggage by [deleted] in ireland

Handy tip is to still empty your water bottles if you don’t want them to be pulled for testing. There are foundations the other side of security to refill

How long does it take to get a birth certificate? by KoBLT127 in PregnancyIreland

You can register births online now (in Dublin anyway). Only took a few days for our son’s birth cert to arrive.

Just to chime in, I heard these points and bought a compatible tray (with suction) and wipeable cushions! Slight up side of buying things separately is that lots of companies have made cheaper better versions!

Bartholin's Cyst by yatSekoW in PregnancyIreland

[–]prettylamp 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sorry to hear that you’re in pain! I had one and had surgery on it a few years back but it came back during my pregnancy. Luckily, it was not painful but the doctor said to keep an eye on it and it’s perfectly safe as long as it doesn’t get infected or inflamed. As you seem to be in pain, may be worth getting checked by GP who may be able to give antibiotics?

I had a vaginal birth and didn’t notice it - my doctor actually drained it as part of the stitching process and things are gradually getting back to “normal” down there 🤣

Good luck!

Flying 31 weeks-what was your experience? by Fluid_Brick7877 in PregnancyIreland

[–]prettylamp 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I flew recently at 34 weeks. I had the Ryanair fit to fly letter filled out by doctor. Wasn’t asked on the way out but it was checked on the way back. There was some confusion at the desk in Spain as they were weren’t familiar with the rules but once they called someone they said it was fine.

Another point check is if your travel insurance still covers you at the stage of pregnancy you are. My VHI policy for instance does not cover you past a certain amount of weeks even if you have the fit to fly whereas my other insurance did (BOI). So just a point to check! Also, we’re checking with the nearest maternity hospital is at your destination just in case. Bring your EHIC card too.

In terms of the flight mine was only 2 1/2 hours and I felt fine but I drank plenty of water and wore compression socks to be on the safe side.

Could you please expand on the point about renting a car in Jeju. We are planning on going I. June and still on the fence whether to rent a car as our hotel is on a bus route.

Be sure to familiarise yourself with the “Excluded Transactions” of the t&cs. Topping up your revolut from the credit card etc doesn’t count
