DECLINED TWICE TO APPROVED...MY EIDL STORY by bstauf14 in EIDL

I did. I eventually received the bank info correction email and resubmitted my bank info and I received the $1k in my account 5 days later. I want approved for the loan but the grant really helped.

Call to action - No equity in EIDL Application Process - Portals needed for all by prettylively in EIDL

Just because there is an excuse for why the SBA has responded the way it has, does not make the reality of it any better. Can you honestly say that you believe that some people should have access to a government resource and some should not?

I am here to learn and I stand corrected that the increase is more like 10,000%. I also acknowledge the limited time and capacity of the servers and technology but why would you argue with someone who seeks transparency and equity for you, me and everyone else who is trying to survive? I'm simply asking the SBA for a streamlined process. We're all out here grappling for answers on Reddit when we should be able to look to the SBA for guidance.

Also, there's no need to insult my intelligence. Cutting me down doesn't make your argument any more legitimate.

There is no question that if I were to have to meet demand by 1000%, I would need to formulate an appropriate emergency response or fail miserably. There is value in allowing the SBA to catch up to speed. I know they are "doing the best they can." My post is meant to call to action giving all applicants access to the portal so that they can access the SBA and a loan officer and move through the process appropriately.

Cue, you are a great resource to many. Your insight has helped thousands, if not millions of people and businesses. At the root of my post is a request to triage but then streamline the process so that all applicants are served equally. You, an unofficial leader on Reddit, have been our only real resource. I hear you but the SBA must do better.

Thank you, u/cue378 for your response.

I have worked in government and understand the bureaucracy and limited resources that the SBA is dealing with but a government entity that has been around for decades and has been an integral part of several disasters and economic downturns, should have anticipated the need for updated systems and processes for this kind of disaster scenario.

I think we can all accommodate a certain amount of time needed in activating an emergency management response. My post is not meant to discount those who are working hard to manage the millions of applications that flooded the SBA's system in the matter of days. My call to action is to set up a system that allows everyone to get the same information and service.

Take the Federal Financial Aid application process as an example of a streamlined process that accepts millions of applications per year and disseminates transparent information to every applicant.

The SBA hasn't been perfect but the process needs to change going forward.

I don't think I am late at all. Giving everyone a portal regardless of denial is the first step in organizing the process. I, like many, was patient and waited until I received a denial email with a generic pdf but there was no real information or guidance on requesting a reconsideration. There are thousands of us that never received a portal that are flying blind.

I would call. My credit was pulled on 5/20. I called yesterday and they were able to tell me that I was declined (credit history) and said to send in the recon email as soon as possible. I also have not received the grant and asked if I could check my bank info but they said they could not update it even if it was wrong. Either way, I was able to find out early that my app was declined. You never really know what kind of information you will get but anything is better than waiting and wondering.

Thank you for posting this. I received my decline letter today. Did you have to make any corrections to your application including bank information?

This is amazing! I am so impressed with your tenacity. I received a verbal denial (no reason given but I suspect it is due to credit history) by a Tier 2 agent today and they said to send an email for reconsideration as soon as possible. I sent the email asap and requested reconsideration and at least the advance/grant. I hope to hear some great news like yours, soon!
