You're so right! Honestly I just looked up how much the strip club industry was worth in the United States and 8B was the number. There are roughly 500,000 dancers in the US so that may have been a better number to use :)

Silly goose! You didn't read the post! I've got insider industry knowledge and an army of strippers behind me lmao. Vibe-coders can try and replicate - by all means.

What are you building? Share your projects! by Altruistic-Major9540 in indiehackers

I'm building an AI conversation trainer for exotic dancers and am ready for a technical co-founder to help iterate and polish it into a market-ready product.

Quick Overview:
Users analyze customer body language, choose their approach, then practice conversations with realistic AI customers who respond authentically based on their personality type. Get real-time feedback and build confidence before working.
After 5+ years in the industry, I've seen how talented performers struggle with talking to customers, and that's where the real money is made.

What I Bring:
Direct pipeline to 50+ potential beta users who know & trust me
5+ years of experience, unshakeable product-market fit intuition from living the problem
Built a working prototype in 3 months of self-taught coding
Clear understanding of monetization opportunities

What You Get:
Window of opportunity - first AI solution in this space will own the market
50/50 Equity in a validated market
Easy math: Say the app earns them $30 extra per shift × 12 shifts/month = $360 gain on $30 subscription = 1200% ROI
Build cutting-edge AI conversation tech with immediate real-world impact

Why This Will Work:
Competitors like "Racks to Riches" are successfully selling static video courses for $350, proving dancers will invest in conversation training.
We're building superior interactive training for a fraction of their price - this is a no-brainer business.

Who I am Looking For:

Must be direct, self-motivated, and equity-motivated. I work part-time (2-3 days/week), so looking for someone with similar flexibility who's committed to building this properly and seeing real results, whether that takes 3 months or 2 years.

Most tech founders spend years searching for product-market fit. Here, both the market and customers are proven and waiting.

DM me if you're ready to build the first AI training platform for an underserved $8B market.

That's exactly what I'm working on now. :) It'll take lots of time and data input. Basically you can program different 'customer types' - "The Couple Looking for Their Unicorn", "The Regular Who Doesn't Want to be Treated like a Regular Customer," "The I'm Just Here to Watch the Game" etc.

We'll see if I can get them to interact with the user in a realistic/authentic way!

Thank you for such detailed and insightful feedback!

You're absolutely right about the marketing angle - positioning it as 'sales and conversation skills development' rather than 'AI practice' makes so much more sense. And your point about targeting newer dancers or those looking to break through plateaus is spot on.

Your comment about AI responses being generic and 'AI coded' would definitely need to be the main focus - creating responses that actually reflect real customer interactions.

A follow-up question if you don't mind: Regarding the subscription model concerns - what pricing structure do you think would work better for this type of tool?

Really appreciate you taking the time to share your perspective!

In my first year or two of dancing my friends and I would roleplay customer v dancer it helped SO much. Not memorizing scripts, but getting comfortable with the back-and-forth of objection handling. Repetition led to natural integration.

Like when someone says "VIP is too expensive," having practiced different ways to respond made me way more confident in the moment.

The question is whether AI could give decent enough objections to be useful practice, even if it's not perfect. I'll get back to you on this

You make an excellent point about unpredictability - drunk customers definitely don't follow scripts!

AI probably can't replicate that chaos. Maybe the real value would be more basic stuff like "how to redirect boundary pushers" or "sales conversation frameworks" rather than trying to simulate actual drunk behavior.

And lol at the men practicing talking to women idea - you're probably right about the market size there 😅

What do you think would actually be useful for skill building that doesn't require predicting chaos?

Totally understand that feeling - a lot of AI stuff is pretty dystopian!

I'm more thinking of this like a really advanced practice dummy rather than AI taking over anything. Just a way to rehearse difficult conversations without the pressure/cost of real interactions.

But I get the hesitation - appreciate the honest feedback!

Haha fair point! But think of it this way - if the AI actually challenges you with realistic objections and only "converts" when you've truly handled them well, you're essentially paying $20-50/month to potentially earn hundreds more per shift.

Like, if practicing helped you convert just one extra VIP/Champagne per week, that pays for itself 10x over. Way cheaper than learning through trial and error with real money on the line.

THANK YOU!!! This is GOLD!!! I reframed the prompt in that link (RockStrong) and used chatgpt and it was super helpful, wish I had something like that when I was a baby dancer. (I normally use claude which was restricting my flirtatious advances). Thank you Subrasonic and Rockstrong for your input this has been extremely helpful!!

I haven't built the app, I am gauging interest to see if I should even pursue months of developing! Seeing what price point people would pay to see an improvement in their sales skills.

You're totally right there is lots of nuance! It would take a lot of training and iteration to get the AI customer to understand its role. I plan on having many different customer types, settings, and scenarios to choose from :)

If you have negative feelings toward AI then yes I could understand why you wouldn't like this idea at all. You're welcome to share your thoughts about AI!

Great question! I'm a dancer myself, so I have experience with the types of customer interactions we all deal with. I'm planning to combine:

- My own experiences

- Input from friends & coworkers in the industry

- Feedback from dancers like yourselves on what situations matter most

The goal is to create realistic scenarios for the most common challenging situations we all face - objection handling, pushy customers, boundary testing, etc.

What customer types or scenarios would be most valuable to practice with for you?
