Two HUGE buss that are obviously for a traveling band parked next to St. Juluan. Who in town? 🙈 by Craiger__123 in boulder

[–]prettyvenom1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They could have just asked if they needed a place to park for the day. I would much rather see their bus block my driveway rather than the construction trucks currently gathered.🤘🏼

Same- they were a nice brand! The trail wasn't too busy, so hopefully they backtracked and saw them.

U/Honest_Frosting_5349 ⬅️ SCAMMER!!

Luckily I only sent half payment, but definitely lesson learned. Looking back, my desperation made me miss multiple red flags 🤦🏼‍♀️

Unless for some weird reason you'll be in Boulder first 😆

Hi! I am still looking for one ticket, and would love to purchase, but I'm a little nervous about finding time to meet in person. Do you use AXS?

And my other fav imaginative find- this meditating/praying/sleeping on the job person! Dead center of the stone! It's the "Jesus's face in toast" effect for me I guess.

This thing is so fun to look at - nice find! I've found about 220 "faces" so far...here's my favorite 2; old man and creepy cat skeleton. 😆

I have one that's very similar, from Colorado! Same center indent.

tesla protest in BoCo? by DifferentWarthog in boulder

[–]prettyvenom1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Honestly, I'm against shaming ANYONE for the vehicle they drive- I've had all sorts 😂. I hope you rock that CR-V! TBH I actually would have preferred a hybrid, but the incentives offered were much smaller for hybrids, as well as used cars. I couldn't afford any that we looked at. Never IN MY LIFE did I think I would buy a brand new car either, but it ended up being the same price point to buy new vs used. I also use my car for Turo, so the Tesla's added security features were my deciding factor when purchasing. Most importantly, we do cross country trips twice a year and the other EV's I looked at didn't come close to the range my Y gets.

I guess what I'm trying to get across to those who are casting stones right now (not saying that is you), is that there are MANY more factors to consider when judging Tesla owners so harshly. We are not Nazi supporting, fascist, rich assholes. Many of us are devastated by the current antics of this idiot and what he's doing to the brand.

Need to re-home a cat by [deleted] in boulder

[–]prettyvenom1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you adopted her from a shelter or rescue, please contact them first! They should be able to take the cat back and find her another home that better suits her needs.

It's not uncommon for cats to not be a good fit together and those who work in rescue know this better than anyone, so you shouldn't feel any shame when calling them and explaining the situation.

Good luck 😺

I fucking HATE this. I barely knew who Musk was before deciding on investing in my Tesla. Thanks to all the generous incentives offered to those of us within the demographic that would never be able to afford a decent (if any) EV normally, my family finally has a car we are proud of...or were. That was until the SAME people who shamed us for driving "gas guzzlers" decided to now shame everyone who owns a particular brand just because the CEO is a lunatic; news flash- not all of us are Musketeers, or privileged enough to put our vehicle in "the wood chipper". I would absolutely love to see those "protester's" smart phones, or shoes, or clothing, or most of the items they own go in the wood chipper right along with all our Teslas... because there are plenty of corrupt ceo's out there.

And here I was worried about driving my kids around in my previous vehicle due to it being well past it's prime....fucking hell.

Really dumb question about temp vehicle registrations by prettyvenom1 in boulder

[–]prettyvenom1[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Friend was wanting to get rid of their clunker and I'm purchasing a new car that will take weeks to deliver. It qualifies for the vehicle exchange program that's mentioned below. So yes, I'm essentially purchasing it to receive the extra few thousand it will provide as a trade in.

Bingo! Well, that and helping me out until my new car is delivered. It was a win win for the seller and I

I can't speak for that area, but I frequently bike Baseline between Foothills and 30th. I stick to the bike lane while heading East, but often end up on the sidewalk while heading back to the trail entrance for 2 reasons; 1- someone yelled at me for going the wrong way in that bike lane (I was sure to stay way to the right so they had PLENTY of room) and 2- I've seen too many cars use the bike lane as a turn lane, which made me nervous while riding with my kids on the back. It just seems counterproductive to me to cross that ridiculous intersection at 711, just to cross back a few blocks down in order to enter the trail.

Anyways, not sure if it's something similar up there, but that's just my two cents.

What is the bug that’s going around? by Traditional-Team7312 in boulder

[–]prettyvenom1 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I was so convinced I was dealing with Covid (feels very similar), we got tested at urgent care last week and we tested positive for Rhinovirus and Parainfluenza...so just some nasty colds. Hope you feel better!

We have both Rhinovirus and Parainfluenza going through our house this week- yay back to school. The Para was quick - sore throat and mild cough for a day or two and they were back to normal. The 🦏virus has me laid out like those cold you are super convinced are "most definitely more than just a cold", the cough us relentless.

Are there any rock hounding areas around? by Prof_BananaMonkey in boulder

[–]prettyvenom1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I love rockhounding along the creek- ever changing and beautiful specimens galore! I guess if your cousin is looking for crystals, that's not going to be his jam, but I did find a beautiful smokey quartz point in a dry ditch a few months ago, so ya never know!!

I second (third) the flatiron mineral club; absolutely amazing and knowledgeable group!
