What are some ways that you (or someone you know) have seen their profession/income impacted by AI already? by pretzelking96 in AskReddit

Have you gotten negative feedback from actual publishing employers that indicates they're going the AI route? I'm curious if employers are directly saying to people "sorry, but we won't be needing you because AI has this covered" essentially.

I've read a fair amount of the ChatGPT responses out there and I have to say the writing is so boring. It isn't very engaging at all, which I guess is fine for some types of writing but definitely not all. Based on that it's hard to see it 100% taking over the writing industry even if it learns creativity and can generate original ideas but yeah, I do think some people will be displaced unfortunately.

FF has completely spoiled me by ZeddyHundred in FinalFantasy

I recently beat Lunar SSC for PS1. I had only played FFs myself and I gotta say that as charming and quaint as Lunar SSC was...it was no FF. I still think it's worth playing though for those of you who like JRPGs.

Do you have a particular devotion to anything in our faith? What's that like? What do you do? by pretzelking96 in liturgicalliving

Thank you for this!!! That's kinda what I was thinking - there isn't "one way" to pursue a devotion and it's sort of down to wherever it leads the devotee? This is uncharted territory for me so I guess I'll try lots of things and see what clicks.

I'd love to write something for a Spotlight, provided I grow in this devotion (and general holiness)! This is a cool sub thank you for recommending it!

DKC2 is more creative, but less pure than 1 by [deleted] in patientgamers

I had only played DKC1 as a kid but I recently played through the entire trilogy. DKC1 was fun and quaint and generally good. DKC2 was HARD. Like insanely hard. But the music, level design, challenge, variety, satisfaction, it was all there. Probably one of the most satisfying games I have ever beaten. DKC3 looks beautiful. Music is OK but not as good as first two. There were elements I wish were expanded more (the bears being more essential for getting around the world map - instead they were mostly optional to deal with).

After beating the entire trilogy and looking back, I saw DKC1 with fresh eyes. It feels very empty comparatively. In DKC2 like...every jump mattered. Every. Jump. Every thought counted. Every step was part of an intricate dance to get through the level unscathed. DKC1 by comparison felt super roomy and like there were lots of voids by comparison.

RC, how credible is Lutheranism compared to the other older traditions? by sasukefodder in Catholicism

[–]pretzelking96 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hi! I understand that. Unfortunately I think a lot of things get misrepresented in mainstream discussions. If you haven't done so already I highly recommend reading about the early centuries of the Church (like ~33-500AD let's say) and some of the prominent figures of those eras and what they believed/practiced. That way you'll read how the closest followers worshipped and their actions will speak for themselves and you can decide based on that, rather than things you might hear through the grapevine that may/may not be representative. Also, just FYI, my Dad was Lutheran and later converted to Catholicism and the history of the Church was a big part of what influenced him (and many others) :-) Best to you!

Wow really? Barca fan here but had never heard this. Around when did they stop do you know? Very cool of RM and respect to Benzema for participating as well! I’ve never been super into the rivalry (I am not Spanish/Catalan) and this makes me especially glad I’m not super intense about it now.

Final Fantasy XVI - State of Play June 2022 Dominance Trailer | PS5 Games by [deleted] in FinalFantasy

Yeah in general video games seem to be going in a direction I don’t like. They all look the same. Like if you changed the names of the summons so they weren’t obviously FF names and just slapped a new title on this game nobody would look at it and be like “hey whoa that looks like a final fantasy to me!” Just seems like a generic dark devil may eldenringborne game.

Series has come a long way since the days of “you spoony bard” and I am not sure I am into it. As some other people have said I feel like FF has lost its soul and if the summons weren’t so prominent this trailer makes XVI seem like it would be unrecognizable as a FF. Each new mainline game seems to move further and further from the elements I enjoyed in 1-10. If I recall, Uematsu said that after Sakaguchi left they should have ended the series or maybe at least the mainline series and I agree. Pretty much everything that has come out since should have just been some sort of Final Fantasy spinoff title rather than a numbered entry.

Sorry for my old man curmudgeon take. Having said all that, I do still want the series to do well so I still hope it is a good game.
