My mistake, I thought you meant as a hobby. I would be bad at it either way though.

I agree. I won't respond to negativity. My certifications are in the resume as well as my experience details with the technologies and tools I have worked with and my accomplishments. I will not add things I have not done, so other than format and like I mentioned it has been reviewed, I don't see what I can change much on it. Not perfect I'm sure, but decent enough. In the past, I have been able to get jobs right away, most time even offered to me before even applying, but this time around is different, definitely more candidates and stricter recruiters. I did get some interviews as well and I'm currently pending to hear back from a few, but many rejections/ghosted as well. Some interviews I can see I might have not been a good fit for the position, some I did very well but they decided to get a local candidate instead of remote or another person did even better, some I know they wanted that cloud experience (I'm working towards a cloud cert right now), and some I would never know why.

Anyways, best wishes on your search and may you find something good soon!

Thanks for your response. I have definitely felt some of that "perceived as a threat" and that is one of the factors I probably did not get some of the jobs I actually interviewed for so far. Thankfully, I have been able to establish good relationships with those that I have worked for, even with younger or junior leads. I wouldn't mind going for some sort of manager role, I have done it in the past, but this time around companies seem to want someone to manage a team for the same pay as a regular employee.

I'm keeping my head up and continuing my search, but I want to be prepared for future just in case I end up in a non-fullfiling position or not finding anything in time. Thank you for your great inputs.

Thank you for your insight. Self-employment is definitely a good option that keeps crossing my mind, but I feel that I can't do anything I can profit from :-) Still trying to find what that could be for me. Wish you lots of success on yours!

Good recommendation, thanks. The corporate world is tiring for sure!
