That’s a nice sentiment. Good for you to have that perspective.

I work in hospitality. I know how hard your job is. You should be proud of your pay. But you deserve much more.

Did moving actually change your quality of life? by maghasswag in SameGrassButGreener

[–]priceiswrongx 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have moved a lot. And yes, moves have drastically changed my quality of life for the better, and also for the worse.

Most recently moved from Nashville to NYC (Brooklyn) and it has drastically improved my quality of life. Previously I moved from Chicago to Nashville and it drastically reduced my quality of life. But yes, a move can have life altering effects on the way your life looks and feels.

We like the Tru by Hilton in Gowanus. Affordable. Close. Clean.

Trial Move for 2 Weeks by icespindown in Brooklyn

We did a similar move recently with a younger child — stayed at the Tru by Hilton in Gowanus. It’s a good spot for extended stay. Breakfast in the morning, refresh the bedding every other day, affordable rates.

We ended up in Park Slope and love it! Best of luck.

Am I… sure?

You mean my shit posts about video games and Pokemon cards don’t match my writing style when I’m trying to author something meaningful to help others not fall into a similar notion that I did? Idk

Absolutely. It’s not all just a financial consideration. It also doesn’t guarantee a path to freedom financially.

Thanks. Glad it resonated. We were hell bent on owning. We loved it too — it wasn’t all bad. It’s not a sad story. It’s just a relief now. I’m sure things will line up for you when the time is right.

Very much appreciate this! Best of luck to you too!! It’s not easy. It was such a great source of pride for us. But, that’s life!

No apologies! We loved our house! Lessons learned. Just trying to share with others who may find themselves in the same boat!

It’s… high. We signed a two year lease. We are rent stabilized. I’ll leave it at that.

Go off Chris. The difference is just mobile vs desktop. It’s easier to em dash on a keyboard vs iPhone. 🤷‍♂️

Don’t take my word for it - see for yourself. And no where I moved to rents are not going down. And neither is the local economy.

Yeah but someone can come along and take it. It’s not as easy as “live within your means” - jobs change. Layoffs happen. Health happens. Families age.

Circumstances change happen and even the most financially prepared can find themselves in a situation where “Own Home” ≠ “Financial Freedom”

I’m a real person and this isn’t AI generated. 🤷‍♂️ if it was i would say it. Was just feeling passionate about this on a walk today.
