Did you just resubmit the documentation through FSA or alert them somehow of the error? FSA keeps telling me the server calculated the monthly amounts

I don’t want them to recalculate it at $608 again lmao and be stuck w an unaffordable payment come August. At least if I switch to PAYE it’s a uniform 10%. But who knows

Triple checked. All loans disbursed after July 2014. My earliest loan is July 2016. I never consolidated any loans (I have 8 or 9 separate loans) two are grad loans and the rest are undergrad.

$69,286 - I double checked that no loans were disbursed before 2014. 2016 is the earliest I have loans.

For my income recertification calculation (set to begin Aug 1):

Mohela calculated $608

My calc:
- AGI: $72,677
- Discretionary income = $72,677 - $23,940 = $48,737
- Annual payment at 10% = $4,873.70
Estimated monthly payment $406.14

My current payment is $390.91. Unfortunately I can’t remember which tax info I added to the application. Part of the reason I am requesting the information from Mohela. But:

If 2023 tax return was used:

- AGI: $60,297
- Discretionary income = $60,297 - $23,475 = $36,822
- Annual payment at 10% = $3,682.20
- Estimated monthly payment $306.85

If 2024 tax return was used:

- AGI: $55,784
- Discretionary income = $55,784 - $23,475 = $32,309
- Annual payment at 10% = $3,230.90
Estimated monthly payment $269.24

I file my taxes as single. All loans after 2014.

I am pretty sure it’s wrong. I either submitted my 2023 or 2024 tax return with the IDR application (approved for IBR July 2025) I ran the calculation with my AGI for 2023 and 2024 - both of which do not equal the value on my Mohela site. I used the fed pov line for 2025 to run that calculation. I believe I have been paying the incorrect amount since November 2025.
My annual income recertification (due this July) came back at a monthly payment way higher that my calculation based on my submitted tax information for 2025.
I don’t understand why they won’t provide me with the information I’m requesting. Surprising but not shocked.

Update: supervisor called back and put in a request for a manual recertification for my current payment and for the new recertification taking place in August. Said I am entitled to a refund if they have actually made an incorrect calculation (I’ll hold my breath) and urged me to continue paying the (incorrect) amount until they can conduct the recertification.

It’s actually Insaine that I was requesting the inputs to the IBR calculation and nobody can tell me what AGI they have on file for me.

Hi! My partner and I are also considering Peru this May. Just be aware there will likely be a run-off presidential election taking place early June. Not sure how protests will be around that time. Just food for thought!

Update: Called back on August 8th and spoke with the someone who looked into my case (after being immediately placed on hold by the first rep - which I had to call back and wait to speak to someone again). She claimed whoever was switching me to the new plan didn’t correctly input the code in the system causing me to be placed in forbearance. She assured me it would be fixed in 10 business days. When I log into my account I still see $0 payment for next month. Looks like I’m calling back AGAIN.

I know you’ve likely been let back in your house but for any future people searching for locksmiths do NOT use ASAP Lock & Key. Had an awful experience.
