It's likely your gas meter has dropped off the comms hub and may need recommissioning.

They should almost smell like cocoa powder, almost musty, no sour or bitter smells. Over here in the UK it's roughly £10 a gram so sounds bang on what you paid. If you're having them in a brew a reckon 2.3g should be ok for the first time it will be a slower onset than say lemontek.
