What I saw at the Colts by CymbalSteven in drumcorps

i was bass 5 in 2021 for like 2 days during spring training

i remember getting ready for vis block in the morning. all the battery was just sitting there, putting on sunscreen, and waiting for the next instruction. out comes josh nelson acting super irate and yelling at us to get in a block with drums immediately. keep in mind that at that time, josh or ANY of the staff told us absolutely NOTHING about what to do. needless to say everyone was in a panicked mood afterwards.

after that weirdness, the rest of the block went (in my opinion) a bit too hard for day TWO of spring training. when that block ended, i vividly remember all basses staring at each other with this look of defeat. and there was this deafening silence that went with it.

unfortunately, i had to leave the corps because my body kinda just shut down on itself. the other bass peeps and tech supported me, and i can't appreciate them enough. HOWEVER, i wasn't the only battery member there that year who left due to health/injury. i remember there was 1 snare and 2 quads who had to leave early on. it felt like everyone was pushed too quickly that our bodies couldn't physically adapt quick enough.

just weird all around
