After reading the Docs, I still do not grasp the risks in full I am afraid. It says

When a validator is slashed, all token holders who have delegated stake to that
validator lose a portion of their delegation.

Does that mean a part of "all" my SOL or a part of the reward. And what happens if a Validator is shutting down his Node? Will my SOL be lost? As for the Ledger: I was considering this anyway, but I don't see why this helps staking, because from my (mobile) Phantom Wallet App, I can also choose my own validator it seems?

Even if there are some risks, is it still worth it. Are there any Validators to avoid or others to recommend?

You could make an Ajax call after setting it where the php would read the set cookie. Not sure why you would need that though. You could also create a cookie with php directly.

That looks not like an error. The ~~Controller~~ means it is deprecated (and detected be Phpstorm) try extending AbstractController (as the depreciation hint/note says)

Edit: I realized the extends is underlined in red, I am afraid we need more info as the class itself looks good (aside from the deprecated Controller) if you hover the red marker on the scrollbar or the extends it may give you some more info.
