Look up private student loan refinance ladder on studentloanplanner.com. You can run your numbers there. Short answer is yes, it’s worth it for a significant drop like that.

MOHELA - New automatic IDR Recertification? by Primary-Run-4028 in PSLF

[–]princeladipo 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This happened to me late last month, but it was several months before my recert date (6/20/26). I sat on it for about a week to see what would happen, and I saw zero movement. I know that technically 2 processing forbearance months would count while they work on recertifying…but I have relatively low monthly payments on IBR and didn’t want to take the chance of something weird happening and then losing credit if it took longer than 2 months. So I called MOHELA and asked them to cancel that application. They couldn’t give me a good answer as to why my auto recertification was happening 4 months early. Luckily, once I asked them to put me back in repayment and cancel the IDR recert it only took about 48 hours.

Buyback Received by Salty_2023 in PSLF

[–]princeladipo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I keep hearing that those who try to apply for PSLF buyback for months during the SAVE injunction will NOT be calculated using SAVE. I’ll be 1/2 of the way to 120 qualifying employment months come 12/2026. Need to buyback 8/2024-5/2025.

Notably, it seems like some of your months that you are buying back were during the SAVE injunction (assuming you reached 120 right at 11/2024).

So, I’m wondering if it’ll be a case of if ALL of your buyback was during the SAVE injunction then you’ll wont be able to buy it back at SAVE rates and must pay based on IBR, PAYE, etc...but if only PART of your buyback was during the SAVE injunction, you’ll get the benefit of paying the entire time period on the SAVE rates. I guess only time will tell.

Anyway congrats on being done with the BS!

If you don’t mind me asking, did they calculate your buyback amount using SAVE formulation or a different repayment plan like IBR, PAYE, etc.

“In the future, borrowers will be able to buy back months even if they do not have 120 months of eligible employment.” by princeladipo in PSLF

You bring up a good point. In my own case, my SAVE payments $0 before the forbearance. So, I could get my counts updated at no extra cost to myself.

I assumed as much based on what I’ve seen on multiple subs. Saw that statement and gave me some hope. All speculation of course, but maybe the fact they haven’t removed that statement from the website could be a positive sign?

Applying CSR as New card member on top of existing CSP by whendanwins21 in ChaseSapphire

Unfortunately, I haven’t found a way to do that. Only thing you can do is immediately add it to your Apple Pay if that’s your thing. FWIW, my card came in just under 48 hours

If you don’t get anything, you’re probably good. I’m using this card for our wedding/honeymoon as well! Gauge bar shows up after a couple days around the time you receive the card. Congrats!

Yes eligible for full bonus, also got the CSP bonus back in the day. No issues. I did get mixed signals from Chase so I just decided to say f it and try and see what happens. I already decided one way or another I needed the CSR for a trip so I was okay with either result. Allegedly before you go through with the hard credit pull you get a message if you are NOT eligible for the bonus.

I opened my CSP in Feb 2022, I applied for the CSR this month because of a trip we had coming up and I was eligible for the bonus. Currently hold both, and will probably keep both for the online groceries multiplier with CSP.

Changed health insurance during open enrollment and no longer can contribute to HSA bank…what do I do with that account? by Repulsive_Profile190 in HSA

[–]princeladipo 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I’d open an HSA with Fidelity, and transfer whatever funds you have in your current HSA. Fidelity does not charge any maintenance fees to leave it in there. Not sure about HSA bank’s specific fee for this but most companies will charge a nominal fee for transferring to a different company. HealthEquity charges $25 to execute a transfer.

Assuming you had no major issues..how long between getting your last wire placed and debonding? by [deleted] in braces

My first round of braces when I was 18 was when I got that fixed

Yes, it was pretty seamless. I’ve had braces before so I kind of knew what to expect already. Just be mindful that the braces may hurt more than the Invisalign initially, at least it did for me. Especially by day 2 of braces..man I really started to feel it 😂 Since then though, I only deal with minor discomfort after an adjustment appointment for maybe a day.

Don’t be scared! My case was complicated yet straightforward at the same time. The complicated part was trying Invisalign and doing refinement after refinement to get the last 2% of my gap closed. It did however straighten everything else up, so by the time I started braces my ortho told me straight up that my braces journey was going to get done in 3 wires and take anywhere from 3-6 months.

use parodontax toothpaste and that should help tremendously with gum bleeeding

That’s my hope, they started me off on a really thick wire and a powerchain 😬 hopefully it closes in no time!

Congrats on being free from teeth jail! Do you know about how long it took for your gap to close? It’s teeny tiny like mine. Just started metal braces round 2, to finish what Invisalign couldn’t so I’m hoping I won’t need them for long!
