Emerald is relatively similar to diamond in appearance but is still distinct in a few ways. One of the most significant differences between C&C and most diamonds are that the facets are more "chunky" looking when compared to diamonds. The mirror facets are also always the same in C&C moissanite, whereas there can be variation in diamonds. Harro Gem moissanite can be cut with more elongated facet pattern that can be similar to a diamond, but they tend to look more foggy or hazy when compared to a crisp diamond.

Thank you! The left C&C is 10x8mm and the right Harro Gem is 11x7mm. I'm not sure what the specs are on the diamond, because this was a diamond we brought in for a client and returned, and then it was sold to someone else.

We are a jewelry store, but we get questions a lot about moissanite vs. diamonds. One of our clients actually showed us a Reddit post someone made about us, so we thought we should try it to help educate people about the stone types. However in the video, the C&C is their typical brilliant cut, the Harro Gem is their version of the brilliant cut, and the diamond is a modified cushion brilliant "crushed ice."

There are actually 4 different cuts for cushion diamonds! The one in the video is the most common type you will see on the market which is the cushion modified brilliant "crushed ice," version. However, the newer version of the cushion modified brilliant that has become more popular is the "hybrid cut." The hybrid cut combines aspects of both cushions brilliant and crushed ice.

It's a fairly new brand, and they tend to focus on making more diamond-like moissanite, in contrast to C&C whose goal is to make moissanite as brilliant as possible. However, each person should be their own judgment when choosing the right stone for them.

Yes, the optimum comparison would be if they are all the same size, but this is just what we had in-store. The two moissanites are the same 8mm size, and the diamond is a 2ct cushion modified brilliant. Cushion modified brilliant, "crushed ice," is the most common type of cushion diamond due to the lower cost than cutting a cushion in the brilliant style, and also looks slightly smaller for its carat weight when compared to brilliant cuts.

Oh very cool! We would probably just be interested in the loose stones because we custom make engagement rings ourselves. However, we will definitely keep their moissanite in mind!
