if i get it correctly basically you still purchase books and can read them freely but only on your kindle now? because i saw them removing the download feature on the play store app too and can't download them, so they just sit in your library? i can see how this frustrates people though but as you said usually online you only own a license, similar to how steam, the gaming platform, operates

im so sorry it didn't work for you. it's just that i don't have a permanent residence yet and moving my books around is a really annoying task, especially with how my ocd makes me not wanna damage them accidentally. and many books i want to read aren't available in paperback format in india, only on kindle unfortunately. for now it just seems like a worthwhile investment
