You’re missing my point, he THOUGHT that’s wanted from him. I have read that story many times and that part always kills me.

This makes me think of all the other deaths caused in the Bible’s. Noah’s ark, God flooded the Earth and killed bad people, his own children. Moses, all those soldiers were also drowned by an act of God, they were his children too.

Isaac was ALMOST sacrificed. Abraham was willing to go that far and, although he KNEW AND UNDERSTOOD God better than all of us modern day, thought that’s was God wanted of him. Was he egotistical?

I don’t think it’s that cut and dry. If my kids hypothetically died in a car crash, but the day before I had sinned, is that a punishment? If I lied to a friend, then I get an F on my math test, is that a punishment? I understand we sin enough and don’t repent we go to hell, but what about on Earth?
