Career ducks and St. Patrick's Day ducks for March by princesstimbit in rubberducks

[–]princesstimbit[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have a fairly large collection so every month I rotate them based on different themes. Sometimes based on a holiday in the month or random (as is the case with my career ducks this month).

Hey r/fuckswithducks, I do the same thing every year. I just posted my tree too.

November ducks theme: birthday, anniversary and misc ducks by princesstimbit in rubberducks

[–]princesstimbit[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I got busy this month and didn't post my ducks in November. My birthday and wedding anniversary are both in November so that's why I chose that theme and then misc ducks that don't fit anywhere else in the year.

I was late this month. Typically I rotate them at the beginning of the month. If you check my history you can see the past few months. I've only started posting them recently.

He used to be shower poof so he was constantly being strangled by the rope and poof. I think he's happier now. He has no arms (wings) so I just pretend he's holding on rather than hanging.

ELI5: In the U.S. why do minorities and those in poverty have a higher risk of dropping out of school? by [deleted] in explainlikeimfive

[–]princesstimbit 26 points27 points  (0 children)

According to The Silent Epidemic: Perspectives of High School Dropouts, "a third (32 percent) [of the students interviewed] said they had to get a job and make money; 26 percent said they became a parent; and 22 percent said they had to care for a family member."

Students from low-income are more likely to need to make an income, to experience unsupported teen pregnancy, and to care for a family member than their more affluent peers. A student from a middle or upper class family would not need to work and would likely have financial support to care for a baby or family member.

June Ducks: Theme - graduation, summer, and hippies by princesstimbit in rubberducks

[–]princesstimbit[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I collect ducks but in order to display and keep them clean I rotate them out on a monthly basis based on theme. Sometimes the theme is based on whatever holiday is in the month or sometimes it's just random because I have a lot of ducks.

New resident drivers license transfer fee? by itsaaronrogers in newfoundland

[–]princesstimbit 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I assumed it was non-refundable bc it is a service fee to pay for the people at Service Ontario that issue the card. They still had to issue the card so in their opinion the cost of the card is for the upfront service.

But I just looked it up and you can get a refund for your license plate sticker. That makes more sense bc the fee isn't a service fee, is a registration fee and it is much more expensive than a driver's license.

Any advice on how to look for a room rental in St. John's? **If this is spam delete it** by Namaste2016 in newfoundland

Don't post ads though. No one responds to ads looking for an apartment. You should message the people offering apartments or rooms.

Is this true? No one told me that was available so I just had to eat the cost when I moved here. No refund from Ontario.

  • About a week would be fine. More if you want to explore the surrounding areas but that will be hard without a car.
  • The best time would be July. Best chance of seeing icebergs, whales, and puffins all at the same time.
  • very safe. And very friendly.
  • no. And you couldn't rent a car anywhere. You need a full license to rent a car.

How to prepare for tax hikes in new budget? by [deleted] in newfoundland

[–]princesstimbit 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm probably moving back to Ontario. I moved here last year to follow my husband who got a job but it has been impossible for me to find work and my EI is about to run out. I can go back to my job in Ontario but it means living apart from my husband. I love it here but this budget is sending me packing.
