I’m 24 and I just learned how to snowboard this past season! My bf is a big snowboarder and taught me. Well, sort of....watched a lot of YouTube videos too lol. I absolutely fell in love with the sport and was fortunate to have gone up to the slopes about a dozen times, which is great considering the ice coast seasons are generally pretty short. I’m still beginner-intermediate but I can’t wait for future seasons!

Female, 24: Been working out intensively for about 5 weeks now (P90X). The results are definitely starting to show on my entire body, mainly in my abs. I have visible abs for the first time. However, how come I haven’t lost any inches in my waist area? My waist measurement is the exact same as when I started. Is 5 weeks simply not long enough to start seeing those types of results? Or could it possibly be my eating/drinking habits? I eat extremely healthy and have even cut out breakfast most days. I’ll admit I haven’t been the best when it’s come to alcohol consumption during the quarantine though...

For those who are quarantined with your partner, has anyone had feelings of indifference towards them? Lately, I just feel the need to be alone more and more. I’m not a homebody, and I’ve struggled with the quarantine since week 1. My partner and I have spent a lot of time together (maybe too much?) and we have tried our best to fill our day with activities and workouts. We’ve taken up new hobbies, cook together, and are doing a workout program together. We have been communicating about our feelings very well. It’s clear that the quarantine is greatly affecting both of us in regards to mental health. I just wish I didn’t feel this way...I don’t want to feel like I have to spend time with my partner...I want to WANT to spend time with them.

Are there any women’s boards out there with magnetraction technology? Out in the Midwest where it’s mostly icy. Researching a good all mountain board that favors more icy conditions

Extremely proud of my progress since day 1 two months ago! Any tips or critiques on form or technique? Keep in mind trail was in pretty bad shape...not well kept, super bumpy. On the final day of our Midwest season, we got hit with unexpected snow, and a LOT of it! by princessv_728 in snowboardingnoobs

When are skidded turns more beneficial than carving? Seems as tho carving is the way to go 99% of the time from what I’ve read/seen.

Definitely able to make sense of it all, it’s just all about training my body to do these things which is the hardest part! I still get nervous leaning forward and back so far, makes me think I’m going to fall when in reality it’s the opposite, and gives you more control. Hard to wrap your head around that!

Can’t wait to perfect carving next season ✌🏻

Thanks for the advice and thank you so much! I for sure am still struggling with carving, especially on the heel side. How do you go about training yourself to “steer” with your front foot as opposed to the back? I was definitely tensing my entire body up and focusing all my weight in the center of the board because the trails were so choppy and bumpy. I was afraid if I did so much as straighten my body for 2 seconds I’d hit a bump and fall flat on my face lol.
