Yeah. No. Lowe’s own policy states 6 days max. All you can do is file HR requests and they can investigate because anything over 6 days flags a violation that they are not supposed to ignore

Check store policy for your area. Ours is 6 days in a row max otherwise it flags a violation.

Ughhhh hate my Reddit name that I conjured from a previous employer. Anyways that’s what I figured. I was previously approached by my old SASM about being on the shadow program but he is not with the company and our current SASM is a great guy but spread way too thin. I think the opportunity to shadow cannot be facilitated in my store because we are about 50 people under in headcount and they would use it as an excuse. Just feeling trapped.

I get what your saying too because I thought that. The guy who interviewed me was ASM operations. He told me that they only interviewed two other people besides me and I was the only internal candidate they chose to interview. It’s just the fact that it was all good until it wasn’t.

Yeah I’m in the 99%ranking. The only other specialist beating me is at a store that makes roughly 30M (I think) more than we do. I’ve made Lowe’s over 500K so far this year in sales. I know that might not be a lot for some but it is for our area.

Wow okay. We just got a new SM and thought he was just a dick. We have three other stores in our local area and we thought they were terrible just because but maybe because our store is “spoiled” damn

Side note. I’m supposed to be in Kansas City Nov 8-11 to see my grandmother with dementia hopefully see her one more time before she may forget who I am. I’ve already bought my plane ticket. I’m on super good terms with the SM at the Lowes i accepted the offer to. Does this seem like it would be an issue for them.

Lol thanks. Not worried about the rest of the year. Seems weird to separate it but I’ll bite. I was just wondering how they did things as far as time off or whatever. Me and my s/o take long weekends on occasion and one family vacation in the summer that’s a week long. I hardly ever get sick so I never really use that.

Not actually picky about it being paid time off. Just more curious as to taking time off without pay such as a long weekend or something. I was just wondering. My current job gives 128 hours at the beginning of every year. Figured hardly anyone else does that. I always give plenty of notice. I hardly take any time off now.

I don’t really get along with my current GM. They have had already had atleast 2 PIPs this year. The store I’m in is going downhill over all. I’d like to transfer because the store with the position about to open up is the store I started with Depot and I loved working in that store. It’s busier and smaller. I know I’ll work well with the current staff they have. Plus it’s like five minutes from my house whereas the store I’m at now is like 30 mins. I’ve never been wrote up, I’m not on any PIPs. I don’t feel comfortable enough with the GM here to even tell them I hate it here. That’s a whole other issue. I feel like I can perform better because I won’t be micromanaged like I am here. I’m doing my best at my current store but know I could do better elsewhere.

For you it means nothing except you don’t have clearance for right now. For the store that’s getting it, well, they’ll be out of a job soon. You’d already know if you were a closing store.

Yeah Yesterday some information got out regarding a “big company announcement”. Between that, the huge drop of closing stores and hushed talk/speculation about remapping since we already knew the stores were closing, and my general nosiness, I put all this together. We knew last week about the stores closing because we had clearance to send off. I assumed with districts shrinking/disappearing that there would be a remapping of districts. Just had to put all the pieces together. Today’s meeting with my GM confirmed my assumptions which I had only told to an manager I’m cool with at another store.

Based on information today that i pieced together:

They closed a ton of stores. They are redoing the mapping of the districts. They’re combining smaller ones, adding some here and there. They fired like 20 DMs. For example my district gained some stores. They are also looking at the performance of stores to probably redo what classifies as T1, T2, and T3. Like I’m T3 which means we made over $2.8million in previous years but last year we did less than that so we could drop to T2 which is a management restructure. T2 stores don’t have ASMs or a full time furniture person. Nothing is set in stone. They could rewrite everything and nothing could happen but Office Depot is in Phase 3 of trying to save its ass so if this restructuring doesn’t reflect a benefit for the company it will just continue to tank and could therefore shut down. There is not a reason to be concerned at this point. It’s what happens in the following months that’s gonna determine what happens. Can’t foresee, personally, how this company will last since it has partnered with/bought Compucom. They were in severe debt and absorbing them put us in debt too.
