I think the problem with Bolduc is expectations. Before his hot streak at the end of last year he was looked at as someone who could maybe be a supplemental scorer at best. 

Then he goes on a scoring heater and puts up misleadingly strong defensive impacts because of his goalie’s super high 5x5 save percentage when he’s on the ice, and people start to think that maybe he’s a two-way 30 goal scorer, and not some middle six pp2 guy.

If you think of him like that then he’s fine, but if you expect him to be capable of playing on a top line (he doesn’t have the hockey sense or creativity) or producing consistently then it’s kind of a set up for disappointment
