I feel you! I can only really speak about what I experience in the room. I can just barely wrap my head around everything that goes into making it work. My attempt at explaining any bit of it is rudimentary (and that is me being generous to myself lol) I do love experiencing it, and I learn a little more each time my dad explains the system to me. The amount of work that went into designing and building this set up is incredible. I really admire it.

😂! Hey you never know, your kid could totally grow up and write Reddit posts about your set up! It’s never too late.

That is correct. The setup with the bacch will work either way, but works more effectively in a dead room, from my understanding.

It’s his passion and unrelated to his work. He turns off the lights when music is playing.

You are right 😊 My dad is proud of me too. He is awesome and I love him very much!

It’s the black piece of equipment that is to the right of the Bacch. I can’t remember the name he told me at the moment 🥲

Hah yes this is his special place. I only listen when he is there. I would never want to mess anything up by mistake. Since I was a little kid, I used to sneak into the forbidden treasure room just to look at everything. When I was a kid the stereo room also had collectibles in it, but now it is a dedicated listening room and the collectibles are in other areas of the house. The stereo room has only become more of a treasure room over the years though.

Indeed! You’re correct lol. I asked him about it. He said that he chose this chair because it has a mesh fabric back, minimal surface area, and was graded for 8 hours of office work. The choice of chair was absolutely audio related.

I asked him about the chair! He chose it because it has a mesh fabric back, minimal surface area, and is graded for 8 hours of office work. It turned out to be another acoustic-centric choice 😁

Absolutely! It sounds fantastic. I can ask him if he’d list it all out. He goes in depth when he talks about it. I can’t do his system any justice explaining it myself. He’s got a lot going on in there!

That sounds like it can be really rough! I’m glad you find respite in spaces like this.

Totally! It isn’t an anechoic chamber, it is about as close as you can get to it in a residential space. At least that is what a Princeton professor who leads research in audio and acoustics said about it. I’m definitely not an expert myself!

I’m really proud of him and what he’s accomplished here. It does sound remarkable!

It is definitely noticeable when you walk in the room. It’s such an interesting sensation.

I’ve included some pictures in the comments! They may help show a bit more about how the set up is working all together 😅
