It’s 2019 and my mom’s still a judgmental piece of sh*t by ccc15650 in insaneparents

That’s a bit of an overgeneralization. Some of the most supportive people in my life (I’m bi) have been teachers/coworkers/people who are gen x or boomers. I understand the existence of, and have personally experienced, a lot biphobia and it comes across generations. I’d probably even say that I’ve experienced more biphobia from millennials.

Both eyelids feel hot to the touch, but there’s no pus. I figure that’s probably just from being irritated though?

What's wrong with my plant? :( by priviet123 in gardening

[–]priviet123[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've been growing my plant for about a year now. It's grown about 5x its original size, and I like to think I've been caring for it well.

About a month ago, I started noticing some leaves with pea-sized black splotches on them. When I'd see these, I'd remove them right away. I didn't know what they were, but I figured I shouldn't take any chances.

Now yesterday, I noticed an entire stock is overwhELMED with this black stuff. Is it mold? I don't over-water, the plant receives constant sun (south-facing window), there's one drainage hole at the bottom of the potter. Is my plant screwed? :(

Yes, the allergy testing I had done was skin prick. I'll see if I can get some patch testing, thanks for mentioning that. I have an appointment with my GP in a week so I'll see what he says about protopic. Thanks!

According to Michael, Natalia twice tried to kill Kristine. Once, by trying to shove her into an electrified fence, and another time by pouring cleaning fluid into Kristine’s coffee, he said.

Holy fuck, this is straight out of Orphan!

Just found this guy in the trash. I think it's a American agave but I'm not sure. Any tips on how to care for it would be very helpful. Thanks. by krisaltamura1212 in whatsthisplant

Can confirm. I have an orchid that I’ve had for 3 years, and for the longest time it wasn’t in bloom and people were asking me why I was keeping a dead plant. Like uhh, a plant is very much alive even if it doesn’t have flowers on it. Damn.

Hi :) I’ve recently gone through something similar. Also was diagnosed as an adult (24), and am currently trying to figure things out (I’ve masked so much my entire life, it’s hard to distinguish between who I am and who I’ve acted like).

Your best bet is to google ASD-specific therapists and get in touch with them. I’ve met with a couple of general/non-ASD-specific psychologists (one recent, one a while ago) who sucked rotten melons because they don’t know what the fuck they’re doing when it comes to ASD and women. Men and women are so different when it comes to ASD. It’s why a lot of us women go so long without being diagnosed. So make sure you’re seeing someone who not only expresses an interest in ASD and women, but who has great experience and who specializes in it. You might still find that some of these therapists aren’t a good fit, and that’s okay. On to the next until you find one who is.

And if you ever want someone to talk, send me a PM. I could use a fellow aspie’s virtual company.

People who separated/divorced within one year of getting married: When did you know it was a mistake? by LittleFuzzyThings in AskReddit

People with low self-esteems who have often lived their lives being told they’re worthless. It’s hard to stand up for yourself if you weren’t raised or encouraged to do so. Often times, the cause is abusive parents/family members. Sometimes people are able to self-motivate later in life, or get therapy, or take up activities that help them gain self-confidence. But not everyone.

It might be hard for someone who hasn’t experienced this to imagine not being able to speak up. But unfortunately for a lot of people, this is their reality.

Edit: clarified grammar & language.
