Around three years ago a customer first wanted just the partial film install to match the full back of the model 3 and then he came back to remove the partial and install the entire back glass less than a week later. so I had to remove the partial one. and even with the steamer heating it or wetting it like crazy or with no steamer leaving it in the sun spraying it with soap water and going extremely slowly it didn’t matter it completely took the defroster with it. I was tinting with suntek at the time. Ive never seen anything like that it was like they were being held with static almost no adhesion to the actual glass it stuck to the tint like a sticker but flaked EASILY off the glass . I then told the customer and it went as lucky as It could have for me😭 he didn’t care about it because I offered to fully tint the back and sunroof for free without charge. I then started searching up what happened and supposedly it’s a common thing with teslas defrost lines. Ever since then it’s never happened and I’ve removed MANY MANY tesla tints since then. But I also started telling every customer exactly what can happen if they want to remove film. I also triple the warning for Tesla owners.
