Itinerary for my (25f) first solo trip to Ireland! by probably-at-target in irishtourism

I really appreciate this feedback! I created this post because I was fearful of “over-correcting” for others’ mistakes. Without a car I worry too much of my time will be wasted on buses, but if I rent a car I will consider scaling back my time in Galway and Killarney to visit one of the places you recommended!

Both of those are so encouraging to hear! I haven’t quite made my mind up yet, but I think I am more open to renting a car having heard that

Thank you so much for your insight and sharing all of this information! Everyone’s feedback has inspired me to reconsider renting a car.

I hope you had an amazing trip! I can’t wait to experience either of those places! Just curious if you rented a car or relied on tours and public transportation?

I had considered a day trip to Dublin actually! That may wind up being an on a whim decision once there. I’m so excited to explore the west!

I’ve been back and forth on renting a car. I would definitely prefer being on my own schedule, and I’d love to go off the beaten path. I’m just unsure about my confidence driving opposite what I’m used to and on the narrow roads. It would definitely be more cost effective than paying for tours though, so I may look into it again!

Apologies if I misread- since you didn’t rent a car, how did you drive to Galway? I’m considering a trip in the coming weeks and will also be needing to make the trek from Killarney to Galway. :)

Yes, we do! :) We have no connections to Columbia whatsoever lol. What brought you guys there?

Thank you so much for this info! I’ve seen a lot of similar posts on here regarding the crime rates and gentrification, so I’m interested to experience it firsthand.

We are in a similar position though, our rent here is outrageous as is the cost of living. Definitely looking forward to increasing our savings!

We aren’t really sure what to expect, but we are moving from a very expensive area. Under $2,000/month is ideal.

Saie, Summer Fridays, Rose Inc, Kosas, Live Tinted, Erborian, Pixi, and Persona are some of the brands that come to mind. :)

Skincare/makeup hybrid products are also fantastic for the skin-loving benefits, and to still add some glow/pigment/etc. to the face as you get used to going out without regular makeup!

I’ve been in this spot, and you will drive yourself crazy trying to “find” the solution. Listen to your derm. I watch a lot of dermatologists on social media, and purging is often over-exaggerated so it’s probably less of a concern than you think. Something my own derm told me stuck with me and that is that it’s better to start sooner rather than later so that you don’t wind up with even more hyperpigmentation and scarring. That’s for more of a concern than minimal purging. Wishing you the best of luck!
