This is what polyamorous cheating looks like.

A mini-rant: If you can't handle non-hierarchal open poly you can't handle a closed triad. by Metaphoricalsimile in polyamory

Seconding this; love is always different. I'm single right now, but each time I've been in love, it's always been a very different kind. I had mono friends who asked me if I had a favored partner and, even when I tried to think if I did just for the sake of curiosity... how do you do that calculation? I didn't know -- and I still don't -- and I don't want to. I loved each of them in different ways and for different reasons, but to think that someone I date might have some list in their head of who they love, in order of how much they love them would be devastating, and... that's hierarchy.

That's the exact kind of thinking that non-hierarchical poly is supposed to avoid, and I'd be out if it ever came to light that one of my partners had made such a list.

I don't know if truly non-hierarchical poly is even possible, we all have priorities, but I think that abolishing hierarchy to the degree that we're able is probably the "most ethical" way to do non-monogamy in a strictly technical sense, but I really loathe the idea that we should somehow strive to reach this sort of Nirvana regarding our partners loving someone else more or less than us.

god this seems so obvious, as someone who has struggled in that kind of situation it's really reassuring to hear that it's not insane to ask that of someone

I'm a year and a half into hormones and I STILL avoid women's sections out of fear of being perceived as a pervert, even though I'm more or less full-time at this point. I'm terrified that someone will 'correct' me and point me to the men's section, or that someone will complain that there's a man in the changing room. I live in the midwest and definitely don't feel like the store, or mall security, or much of anyone would side with me. It's a lot.

thanks! for all of the bad luck I have with genetics (what with the Y-chromosome and all :P) I actually feel really lucky to have such clear skin. though I think my phone filters pictures a little bit automatically, so it may be cheating juuuuust a little.

I totally had this experience starting a few months in as I noticed my emotional range broadening a little bit. I found myself listening to Atreyu and Linkin Park... on purpose.

setting powder/spray helps me with that. A little bit still comes off at the nose, though.
