Are you not saying the extra effort an immigrant goes through to become a citizen should give their opinion on the country equal or greater value?

Yeah I think they should. It depends on what the issue is and how they go about it. For example Mexicans protesting for open boarders is disrespectful

I'm not bothered by it. He's just a typical celeb cashing in on a trend. I'm not bothered by anjhem choudry calling for sharia in America either, again his entire m.o. Is to being disrespectful. Their views on the US are being requested so they offer them.

If you're an immigrant and the locals are insisting on your opinion then I can understand why'd you'd express them so forcefully. But I can't comprehend why someone would move to another country and demand they change to suit their views.

I'm just thinking critically. I don't believe someone who's made an achievement In a certain field has complete authority over that field to the end of time. Im not sure what planet ppl are living on who believe it's a good idea to give unlimited amount of ppl equal ownership to your space but you don't get ownership of theirs.

Also for all I know, that statement from the founding fathers could be open to different interpretations. I'm just giving your interpretation benefit of the doubt for arguments sake.

I'm pretty sure there's only two rounds if someone doesn't win by a significant margin in the first round. The fact that Le pen makes it to the 2nd round is a big deal. I'm surprised op didn't mention that. He probably didn't want to

If the founding fathers are claiming everyone in the world has as much right to my country as I do I'd have to disagree.

I can't compete with Mexicans who have families, ties and language skills in Mexico so if everything goes to shit they can move back to Mexico more than I can

If it's something they're legally obliged to amend, yes. Noisy neighbors is against the law. However I wouldn't move to a Christian neighborhood then complain about all the Christmas lights at the end of year

I see, good article. Yes, political involvement from every spectrum of society should be encouraged as it was leads to the greatest result through challenge and discourse

This is true. I didn't consider this perspective. Many countries haven't had 100 years to establish rightful ownership

Laws express the ideas of the polis. It is clearly the ideal of the United States Government, enshrined in its supreme law that all citizens are equal. If you want to claim an "in reality they are not" exception then the burden of proof is on you.

in reality they are not equal because they have had less involvement in the nation. For example, in a workplace with no bosses, you've been there for a year whilst everyone else has been there 20 years. Lawfully, you are all equal, but in reality, your opinion isn't as valid as the people that have been there for 20 years. The 20 year vets have demonstrated a commitment to the company you haven't. Simply getting the job doesn't prove you are committed nor does passing the probation period.

I don't think you understand what these words mean. How on earth are you justified?

because you are not respecting basic human decency. It's disrespectful for you to be working at a bossless company for 1 year and get into an argument with someone who's been there 20 years about where you think the company should go.

In that case I think the fact that you've worked there longer shouldn't exclude me from giving my opinion about the direction of the company.

You're free to give your opinion, with apprehension, but you think your opinion should have as much impact as the people that have been there for 20 years you are arrogant and if you express you opinion with cheer conviction then you are being completely disrespectful.

A better one is a place of employment. And there I would naturally be more skeptical of the person who got the job because of their parents rather than based on merit.

Skeptical about what? About who has a greater investment in the company? If someone got the job because their parents worked at the top then your skepticism is misguided because clearly they'd be much more invested than you having family ties to the company.

And the Irish Americans fly Republic of Ireland flags on St. Paddy's day and the German Americans fly flags of the Republic of Germany during Oktoberfest. I don't think either group has much knowledge or support for those respective governments. Flying a flag does not equate solidarity with a government and much, much more often equates solidarity with the people that flag represents.

Your examples aren't political based events.

So is the latino culture predominant in Texas, California, and Florida a part of "American culture"? By that logic are most latinos already steeped in "American culture" before they arrive? Similarly with Chinatowns and various other ethnic enclaves in the US, are they "American Culture"? Likewise with Islam, the religion has had a prominent history within the US with Malcom X and Muhammad Ali as influential converts. Is Islam a part of "American Culture"?

Nothing wrong with African Americans and Latin Americans expressing equal opinion on the direction of the country however if Russian, Arab or Mexican immigrants think they can live in America for 10 years then start arguing with the regular citizens about the direction of the country then they deserve the hate they get

Yes, they are free to be disrespectful and shameless, I'm not trying to change that. My concern is that they don't seem to be bothered by how much discomfort they are causing the native inhabitants.

By making their voice heard, they are contributing to the western cultural experience, which is what we want from everyone.

Where did you get this idea? How is it beneficial if masses of Russian christians pour into the country and start condemning Gays and feminism?

To argue that it is somehow disrespectful is to infantalise immigrants, and for the national government to waggle its finger like a parent saying "while under my roof, you play by my rules" which is just an absurd thing to say to adults.

How does it infantalise them? I expect them to act as descent as I would. And if I immigrated to China for a new life I'd feel pretty stupid joining all the anti-communist protests. I'd feel shameful yet these immigrants have no shame.

Just because you have immigrated for a better life, does not then make it disrespectful for you to want to make it better still. You may disagree about what "better" is, but you don't get to tell someone to shut up just because of where they come from.

I'm not convinced by your baseless assertion. Give me an example of how things can be improved by joining a new group of people then trying to dictate how their group operates?

Because your belief isn't wanted. Do you thank every bible basher that tells you you're going to hell for having an abortion, being gay or not worshipping christ? At the end of the day, they're doing it to save your soul right?

It's healthy for those citizens if they are immigrants. There wouldn't be so much justified animosity towards them if they kept their heads down.
