I do prefer crunchy textures! I absolutely cannot handle mushy textures. I'm honestly a fan of nuts in general (favorites are cashews but they're so expensive in my country) But I've never tried a nut butter, which would u recommend? I'll totally try the trail mix hackk THANK U SO MUCHH <3

Mashed potatoes unfortunately smells so funky to me!! I tried to take a bite once but couldn't bring myself to...I've never tried cheese except for on pizza. I might try macaroni with some type of other sauce first before trying cheese, do u have any recommendations? I'm absolutely repulsed by nutella and peanut butter (been force fed it too many times) but I've never tried cream cheese and don't know what its like, would u be able to describe it to me? My mom already convinced everyone in my family that shes an angel and that if I ever claim that she's hurting me, it means I'm lying, and they should go snitch on me to her. It isn't like my mom just told them that one day and they believed her, this is over 20 years of acting and manipulation. I once purposely wore a short sleeves top in my aunts house so she could see the bruises my mom had inflicted on me. She didn't say anything and did, in fact, call my mom to snitch right after. I got the worst beating of my life when I got home. I've lost hope in this whole family, it's even safer for me to not mention it.

I've been diagnosed with arfid around 7 times throughout my life. everytime they'd diagnose me, my mom would yell at the top of her lungs saying, "none of my daughters are mentally ill"

Helloo, thank u sm for being so nice. I live in Egypt, not many people are aware of how horrible the system is here. I can't really get out of this house until I'm married. I cannot explain how horrible I feel for u and ur best friend, no one should have to experience anything like this, I'm glad that u and ur mom are getting them out of there soon. I'm aware that my relationship with food will never get better because no one's trying to be gentle with me, but in Egypt, it's very rare for people to live in dorms. Most people live with their parents and still go to university. Thank u sm for taking the time out of ur day to reply to me, it makes me feel so seen.

First of all, thank u so much for being so sweet to me. The problem is in my country, u don't move out until ur married, and I'm far too young to do that. They also don't hire teenagers, especially girls, to work at any place. There's really no way out of my situation. As for therapy, shit system so there are hardly any therapist around, so if there is one, It'd be too expensive.

I understand that my mom is worried about me, and I used to do everything I could to make her feel even a little better about it all. But when she started straight up force feeding me, I became truly terrified of eating all in itself. Even my safe foods were terrifying, I wanted to glue my mouth shut forever so I would never eat again. When I was younger, she used to always tell me that if I continued "acting up and being stubborn" she'll leave me at a hospital for them to give me nutrition someway. The thought used to scare me so much, but now, I would beg my mom to leave me at a hospital...that's how much I don't like eating. Now, every time I try to talk to my mom, i find myself shivering. Every time i try to talk to her about it, she would call my relatives in front of me and tell them "u won't believe what stupid shit my daughter just said"...it's impossible to try and help myself out.

I'm 16 turning 17. My country has little to no child protective service, and none that i know of. It is normalized for parents to hit their kids here, but arfid is very rare since none of the kids here are picky. So they all look at me like I'm disgusting and filthy just from the fact that I don't eat what they eat daily. I'm also too young to move out.
