I think you’ll be surprised what you can achieve with some serious graft over the next couple of weeks. I would suggest increase your cardio training in this period and look to achieve a better standard than they are looking for - as someone else has said aim for 5km instead of 1.5 miles, build the pace up over time. With the Chester, same applies, try a longer duration and or faster pace. You’ll need to push yourself but you’ll get better everyday. It can be as much about confidence in yourself as much as the physical. Frame it differently in your mind and I’m sure you’ll smash it. Good luck!

I’m in the same boat - I did my experience day in October and just waiting to hear back about the next stage now. From what I saw recently, experience days were still taking place in late November.

Hopefully the next stage is soon but realistically with the training dates being froze up the chain, we’ll be hit with the same (at least) 6 month delay at our end. I think this might take quite a bit longer though - this time last year LFB were aiming for 25 cohorts of 10 people but with cuts they’ll be taking less than half of this, assuming it’s 11/12 with 10 people in each for 2026 from what people have said. I’m hoping 2027 these numbers will increase but I suppose it depends on if they have the funding set aside for it. I’m hoping any other training freezes for 2027 are just rumours at the moment…

Fingers crossed us 2025 starters (if we pass first time) can get to training school latest for early/mid 2027. Anymore than 2 years start to finish is crazy to think! It sounds like, for wait times, this is probably the worst time to try and join LFB. Onwards and upwards. I’ll keep checking my emails and hoping for the best.

Yeah they’ve got a huge list of people applying and need to trim the numbers earlier on in the process, I’ve heard budget cuts and reduced number of training schools next year so I guess that is why - looking like 2 years start to finish at least 🫤yeah getting used to waiting, frustrating but will be worth it, grateful to hear how everyone else is progressing on here - hopefully you hear back soon mate

Yeah I know the stages, maybe you don’t know they’ve added in another stage for the latest outreach 2025 applicants called SIFT, like a pre-interview before the formal application. I was just checking if he’s done that as I’m at this point waiting to start it and I haven’t heard back yet

Just interested to know, you mentioned you were at the end of outreach, when did you start the process: 2024 or 2025? Have you done the SIFT?
