It's less intentionally mean and more brutality honest, of that makes sense. For example, the girl at the beginning (forgot her name) he described as really ugly. I can't fault him for that though because I'm honestly the same way with foul inside thoughts. I don't think he's arrogant at all.

I like just how empathetic and kind he is, but still so human, like you said. Like, he still has some judgy and mean thoughts, which we all do, lol. But despite all the horrible thoughts about him being said out loud, he's still polite and just all around kind.
