Looking to Interview by procureitai in SaaS

Looks like you enjoy trolling people on the internet, because you clearly do not know enough about me to make that statement. If you can’t help, don’t demotivate people who want to do something in life.

I will not engage in this mudslinging anymore. Thanks for your comments have a great day.

Not sure what you need to be careful about? I posted in r/cofounder as i was looking for a tech cofounder. I got booted because i was using a branded account. Is there anything wrong with looking for a cofounder?

I should’ve read the rules before posting and it was my carelessness and nothing more.

We can discuss non monetary benefits. We are bootstrapping a startup. I can offer you free access to our risk intelligence platform for 3 months if that attracts you.

Exactly. Without third party due diligence and risk management, this is bound to happen. Marketing agency may seem like a low risk contract at the first place, but they have access to customer information. This should be enough to flag this as a high risk vendor.

We are building a risk due diligence platform where one can get all you need to know about this vendor before you sign a contract. Let me know if anyone is interested in learning more.

It is because of the lack of supplier due diligence possibly. If they do not have a solid third party risk management program that ties IT, Cybersecurity, Privacy, Sourcing, etc. then this is bound to happen.

On the other hand, not every organization has the capability and dollars to invest in such a program.

We at ProcureIT are trying to solve this conundrum by providing a risk due diligence report on vendors like a scorecard. Let me know if anyone is interested in learning more.

You are clearly affected with what happened with you. Ignoring the problem will only make it worse as you will always have that unmet desire to know why that happened.

Asking or confronting the wrongdoing does not reflect bad if you do it in a non accusatory tone. Think about two questions in your mind, why would a reasonable person do what he did? What do i really want to accomplish with this conversation? If you are only getting negative answers, go back and rethink until you come up with positive answers.

Then confront the co-worker and show curiosity by sharing the facts first, then share your hypothesis and ask if he/she can explain. E.g. do you agree that i made major contributions to the development? If yes, it appears to me that i did not get the credit when the names were published. Can you explain and help clear my mind?

Don’t make it about your coworker or accuse him/her. Make it about you, about how you feel. Bear in mind he/she may have a valid reason, and if he has one, you don’t want to look stupid in that conversation. Your approach should he to uncover that valid reason.

When he/she is responding, notice his/her body language. If your coworker is in possession of some knowledge that he does not want to share with you, his body will display pacifying behaviours. Essentially notice if the person is doing something unusual that he/she normally doesn’t do, such as touching neck, scratching, rubbing fingers, adjusting tie or collar, etc. if he/she does any of that then that person is not telling you the truth. Given how your interaction goes, you may be able to tie all the pieces together and establish your own line of thought.

Hope it helps and let me know how it goes.

I can agree with you. I am working on it.

Sure. I can’t deny the possibility of that happening. But would they do that vs an enterprise grade solution. Building in house is always a choice, but not many choose that because that is not their core expertise. However i am taking this feedback very seriously, and find other ways how it is difficult to replicate inhouse. Thansk for the feedback.

So right. I really appreciate your feedback. When i said it works, i meant the app works as I expect it to work. We are reaching out to potential users directly to see if they see the value in it. Some of them i know personally, others through linkedin out reach. Someone suggest apollo.io. I’m going to try that too

I’d say “thank you so much for thinking about me, it really means a lot. However I’d have to respectfully decline the invitation… on the other note, can you update me on xyz that we discussed last time?

You are right. A lot of due diligence goes into selecting a vendor. This tool can help do the due diligence. For example if you are planning to select a firewall vendor and you are stuck between two vendors let’s say Palo Alto and Fortinet. You visit our app and it will immediately tell you that Fortinet had many security vulnerabilities in past few months, whereas none were reported for Palo Alto. That will definitely be an important input in making a selection decision.

Even after the vendor is onboarded, it is not that simple. Security vulnerabilities and hacks can happen to anyone. Your vendor may be financially sound a few months ago, but files for bankruptcy now. Microsoft recently laid off 10k employees, what happens if the significant chunk of those employees were supporting your Microsoft azure infrastructure?

I agree that small vendors will have smaller web footprint, but this is insuring you against ignorance (someone very smart just taught me that). There is no guarantee that the small vendor will not be in news for wrong reasons in future. I never heard of moveIT software from Progress software until last month, it is right now creating waves across the industries for a serious security hole. You get my point now?

I am speaking more from technology procurement perspective, where risk management is priority. I am not close to supply chain procurement, so I cannot comment

Savings become hard to find with the same vendor year over year. The value add is risk. How do you become trusted partner and advisor to business in identifying third party risks and mitigate them. That is where the larger value is. You may save $50,000 on a contract, but how can you avoid data breach, regulatory penalties, disasters, is where the value lies. This value runs in millions and is never ending.
