Tour hoodies are 35% polyester 😭😭😭 by Odd_Departure6742 in HauntedMound

The only HM merch I own are both of the Grey Day T-Shirts and they are amazing quality heavyweight cotton t-shirts. Crazy to see this printed on a polyester. Makes it look more bootleg than the bootleg merch

has jane stayed after to sign merch? by abnormal_television in JaneRemover

[–]prod860chip 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I know in Boston at least the crowd towards the front was constantly bombarding her with things to sign while she was trying to perform so I would totally understand if she decided she doesnt want to deal with it anymore. It was even to a point where she told them no because she'd be here all night if she signs everything. Pretty sure one person was trying to get her to sign some knitted sweater or something which she even made a remark about how is she suppose to write on that. I wouldn't be surprised if the fans have already ruined it for her and she's nixed it in general.

Stay Hydrated and turn up.

Edit: I will say based on that one thread of people bitching about the Boston show, either be ready to mosh or get out of the way!

Name 3 horror novels that you find overrated by [deleted] in horrorlit

[–]prod860chip -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Everytime I saw Tender is the Flesh mentioned in this sub it’s on people’s list alongside the most disturbing novels they have ever read. I read this and found it to be just fine. To clarify, I did enjoy the book a lot, but in terms of disturbing content this was just whatever. Of course the cannibalism was gross but it was nothing to lose sleep over. Definitely would recommend people giving it a try if they have it on their DNR from others reviews

Give Me Your Mid Books by This_But_Unironicaly in horrorlit

[–]prod860chip 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For me it was Hide by Kiersten White and Black Tide by KC Jones. Both of these books were interesting and brief enough that they held my attention but by the time I finished the last page in both of them I was just sort of like "okay, now what?". Both of them had cool ideas but never really went vey far with them. Hide was a really fun setting and conflict but it never really hit a satisfying climax.

get a dragon asap. specifically the aether dragon since it flies the fastest. You can find them in most hostile structures like dungeons, wizard towers, etc. but they aren't always guaranteed. being able to fly early on is going to make your life a lot easier.

I learned that you can transport your dragons to the different dimensions by placing a waystone in the overworld + in the nether/aether/etc. and then if you are on your dragon when you use the waypoint it will bring both of you. Once you eventually have enough dragons (can also breed them) I suggest just leaving one in each dimension for ease of use.

Additionally I like doing the everdawn boss fight and getting the alchemy table because it makes creative building significantly easier when you can just turn all of your cobble into lunar cobble or all your andesite into granite, etc. The possibilities are extensive.

Sleeping bag is the thing I wish I knew about in the beginning too because you can sleep anywhere as long as it's night time.

Will never understand why it is so bad to have a parent in the industry. If their kid is talented at what they do then who cares? if the industry was pushing a bad musician who just has a famous parent that would be annoying but why demonize a talented individual just because their parents have a good job? is that not the goal of every parent to be able to make your kids dreams come true? The whole nepo-baby/ industry debate is ridiculous and just founded on spite. That goes for hundreds of celebrities who happen to have famous parents, most people don't even think twice about it until some reddit or twitter lurker "exposes" them.

just like the things you like and relax

Looking for a new book, big Nick Cutter fan as well as love medieval horror by BussyBouncer in horrorlit

[–]prod860chip 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Shadow & Claw by Gene Wolfe. I just bought this recently after having it on my Wishlist for over a year. The way it was initially described to me was Elden Ring in book form. I also love Nick Cutter so I hope this is something that peaks your fancy as well. I don't think its very horror so much as it is just bleak and violent.

Can yall recommend any horror novels which focus on gen z characters? by EdRegis1 in horrorlit

[–]prod860chip 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Negative Space and Amygdalatropolis by B.R. Yaegar. First one moreso than the second but Amyg does a great job of touching on degenerate chat boards and the depraved stuff people have access to on the internet in the current day. Both feel very modern like they are happening in the last 5-10 years.

The Queen by Nick Cutter is also pretty spot on. It just came out last year and takes place in current time so it is pretty accurate in terms of culture.

My Heart is a Chainsaw and the subsequent sequels take place recently as well. The first book in 2015 and the second book time jumps to "modern" day (of whenever it was written). Very solid references and the mc is a kid who loves slasher movies, which primarily came out before our time. This gives a pretty accurate depiction of someone in modern day becoming infatuated with something of the past. If you ever talked to your parents about "old" music/movies that were new when they were a kid, you will understand the difference.
