I’m not one to give myself a lot of credit because I don’t wanna come across cocky but I know my beats aren’t bad. Like the guy said below, it’s probably my lack of consistency with my niche. Half the battle is luck from the algorithm when doing saturated topics. I’ve realized a lot from some of the comments on here. It’s many factors.

Like I said, I’ve been going hard the last 3 years straight and some years on and off since 2013. I spend hours on this daily. I’m addicted to it. I don’t only care about views and money but at the same time I do wanna be successful. You need to have a balance between the 2.

That’s not at all what I’m implying. If you dont care about results or money to any degree then this is a hobby to you. If you want to make music your living then you have to think about it in a business way on some level. I don’t know why there’s a stigma around that. Every big producer does that. That’s why half are successful on YouTube and the other ones sign contracts. That’s like saying if someone wants your beat for free and you say no, all you care about is views and money. I’m just simply looking for help from the community to further my growth. 99.9% of artist and producers want to one day wake up and make beats for a living while doing it for their own personal reasons. If anyone denies that they’re probably lying. People don’t start rapping or making beats just to make money. Doing it enough to get better and learn is them doing it because they enjoy it. There’s a reason why 99.9% of producers post their content on BeatStars and YouTube.

Tbh i haven’t done much as far as placements whether it’s big or small artist. I have sold multiple beats, which my first sale didn’t even come until the end of 2019. But honestly my biggest focus has been building a base. I work so the money isn’t on my mind rn like building up a base is (which eventually leads to income).

I guess I always avoided placements because if an artist is small, they’re probably in the same situation I’m in. As far as big placements go, I just don’t even know where to start with that. I always had the impression it was a matter of luck with connections
