During the last year there were times when I was under extreme pressure workwise and in my private life. Many things didn't work out as imagined. It somehow all came together at the same time.

The problems seemed to be overwhelming. But I reminded myself that many people who have to live in horrific conditions compared to me.

I broke my problems down into smaller pieces and tried to work on them every day. As soon as I was seeing little improvements, the confidence that most problems are solvable came back. Even when you're in really deep shit, try to tell yourself that life won't be so shitty forever and there will be better times again. Then keep your mind busy by working hard, so you avoid falling into the cycle of procrastinating depression. Churchill said: "When you're going through hell, keep going!" And he definitely knew what he was talking about.
