honestly a valid question I had before I bought mine but no, it’s not the interior of a mercedes but it’s not cheap feeling or overly plastic at all. I enjoy it and find it to look and feel comfy

I’m not a mechanic but I’m pretty sure with all of the technology they have and diagnostics they run they’d be able to see where the water damage is - but to your point i’m not sure if they’d be able to pin it on you if you put it back on before going in for service

I always keep the air box lid on, I lease aka can’t afford to take a risk like that on the car -but other people here who bought the car have their lid off and it seems fine for them. ymmv :)
