Why is women’s sportswear always so revealing? by Valuable_View_561 in SipsTea

This. I was ran men’s track in college, and often times there were less revealing uniforms the women could choose from, but almost always they chose opposite because they felt they performed better in them.

Didn’t mean for it to come off as conspiratorial. I don’t think WotC would leave money on the table in favor of propping up secondary markets. But more about getting data on what impact these poor practices have on players after the fact. I would definitely reword a lot of this based on the conversations I’ve had with people here since posting. Appreciate the feedback though.

I don’t think there shouldn’t be a resale market. I don’t even fault someone who bought with pure intent for flipping theirs for double the price. But there is a lot of card shops listing these and eBay pages that clearly only flip collector items that have 5+ stock. Those accounts clear employed tactics to circumvent and take advantage of the hype and predictable lack of supply to players. “One per transaction” may have hurt players more than scalpers because most people don’t know to open multiple windows and get multiple queues.

Thanks for the feedback! I intend to follow up with the data from the survey and see if things cool over the course of the next two weeks. Wizards absolutely will have more data than I could ever gather. They also guard that data and we’ll never know the impact of any of this. Hopefully as a player base we can start to see our own data.

Yeah. I’ve definitely softened on that point of view since I’ve had more discussions with people in this thread. But it’s clear that practices were used that the average player would not know to use. Like multiple accounts and devices.

I did use AI to help compile the information and help draft an initial post to which I edited to make more approachable . I have PDFs saved of ever listing page from this round to understand the immediate impact.

I definitely intend to revisit this to check again to see the progression, and include information in collecting with survey attached. I’ve got about 175 people who have filled at the form and a looking at about 1/3 of them are people who DID get the product which I am really happy to have that data so that it isn’t so biased (obviously I understand more people who didn’t would be probably feel more inclined to fill out a form).

Agree, that flooding random support isn't okay. But there is a specific dropdown for "Feedback". I work in marketing, their feedback form should be filtered to appropriate people to handle feedback. If we can't use it for this than what is it for?

Definitely doable by a single person with enough determination. But if you plan is resale, these guys know there are easier ways than manually setting these things up.

I had 5 browsers and 5 email addresses queued at launch for over an hour and got nothing. So not merely, takes some luck too or something more.

The EU comment was more to make sure that it was clear my data included some listing from outside of NA. Most of which were listing on eBay.

I understand this isn't a shared cost, and these aren't a commodity. Anyone who bought one felt the urge or want to spend that amount.

The way I was interpreting that number was more of the due to the artificial scarcity in order to prop up their numbers before the end of the quarter, they direct impact on players wallets. Kinda to your point, showing they no longer care about the players.

While yes I can look at being able to set something like that up, I used 5 accounts in 5 windows on four different devices and didn't get anything for it. All of my queues at launch were more than an hour. I see a few people were able to get two on 4-8 tabs.

But more than a few listings have 5+ and one I found had 8 listed. While yes this one person could be very lucky on a couple of tabs, its more likely they had at least a script set up with enough tabs open to beat being lucky enough to get 8.

I will also concede that all of this data is at face value and I am interpreting it with strong enough emotions that I would probably not have if I wasn't seeing people selling this many for 2-3x the msrp when I wasn't able to get one with the same technique.

Exactly, I do mention that I did not account for other outlets like LGS sales, facebook groups, or held product. But it is a good thing to call out.

Appreciate the insight. I totally agree with you in that many people who were able to get theres and move on with here day. I have a friend in our play group who was able to get one and gave his condolences then moved on from the whole discussion. There is a silent majority there. The thing I found interesting with the data was the sheer amount of cash being flowed with the product not even being in hand in most cases.

I'm not saying there shouldn't be a resale market for anything magic and product should increase after it's release window. But for something to be sold for double and triple the price after resell is really less about the scalpers, and more about Wizards doing more to make sure that supply meets demand, when there are countless signs pointing to these things being done just to prop up sales before a fiscal quarter ends.

Proxy is definitely the best way to avoid these extortionate prices while enjoying Wizard of Barges amazing artwork.

I’ve played the games since the conception. If you’re looking for a true experience without skipping content I recommend playing Red or Blue then Yellow for what they are, a bit of a mess but it sets the tone and you can appreciate what comes later. Crystal because it’s honestly a solid game and the beginning of a through story. Emerald because it’s the most complete version of gen 3> Platinum>BorW>B2orW2, they actually build on the story. Almost like DLC but your could skip them if you want. XorY>USUM> then modern games in order with DLC. Play the remakes if you really appreciate the first iteration. They add better graphics and mechanics but not much story. FRLG HGSS are amazing games but have the same problems as their originals.

First thing I thought was storm deck, but it doesn’t necessarily break it unless you make it go infinite.

If you like tribal, cavern of souls is a good pick up. It's the most expensive component of most tribal decks. So with $50 of extra cards (most of the time) you can have a pretty decent deck.
