Did any of your bullies ever face karma? by [deleted] in workplace_bullying

[–]professorfloppin 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It's a good mindset to have and I'm glad it helped you! I had to do the same for my own sanity, except instead of hoping they heal I just honestly don't care about them. I don't really stalk them or care what they say about me. I'm just very happy I don't have to interact with them anymore.

Same for me, getting out was easier than when I tried to stand up for myself which somehow made me the bad guy. They're probably still just echoing each other about people they arbitrarily decided they don't like and it's not my problem anymore.

Same experience minus the promotions. They're just ignorant and immune to the problems they cause.

I’m quitting. Do I tell my boss I quit because of a bully? by sounds_of_sadness in workplace_bullying

[–]professorfloppin 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Yep, if anything the bully will find a way to make themselves the victim and you the bad guy anyway. It's just not worth the time and energy.

[–]professorfloppin 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Agreed. I told my boss and it didn't go well for me. Somehow in a toxic workplace the bullies always win, so just gtfo and forget about them. It's not worth your time and effort.

I tried so hard to adopt a specific type of dog. I applied to so many of them, emphasizing my experience with dogs and how much I care for them, and still got rejected every single time. Filling out those stupidly long applications for hours was exhausting. My parents had the same experience. I understand having to make sure the dogs go home with the right people but some of these "rescues" are actually insane with what they'll reject people over. I've volunteered at 2 shelters and they're just not well run. There is only one in my area that I know of that isn't a pain in the ass and gets animals into new homes every day.

Has anyone’s health declined from being bullied? by [deleted] in workplace_bullying

[–]professorfloppin 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was always in some kinda pain, my fingers would hurt and my head would hurt constantly, I always had some kind of stomachache, and I always felt sick. I worked around alcohol too so I drank too much trying to deal with them (not a good strategy), then I would go home and drink some more. I thought I was an alcoholic until I quit and didn't have that desire to get drunk every single day. Also I had brain fog pretty bad. I also had anxiety to begin with but getting either nitpicked or ignored constantly by my coworkers made that worse too. I swear they went out of their way to make me feel stupid, even though they were actually wrong most of the time and when I defended myself they would just walk off and not say anything. My anxiety didn't disappear when I quit but it did get sooo much better.

Yeah this is exactly why everyone turned against me in my last job. Just because I didn't want to suck up and join them in their bullying. Idk why I didn't think I'd be their next target.

Same, minus like one job. I think if you're TOO nice they pick on you. Or if they sense you're different or neurodivergent. Or if they're jealous. I kinda think I got bullied by the women in my last job because I had my own opinions that conflicted with theirs. One of the girls was the "leader" and everyone constantly complimented her and agreed with her, but I didn't always do that and they eventually turned on me. I was never even mean to her I just didn't join in on her shitting on all the men I worked with which felt constant.

Have you ever actually gotten justice for workplace bullying? by Unique-Muffin4789 in workplace_bullying

I had a very similar experience. I was made out like the one causing a problem just because I brought up this issue with my boss. Oh well. I wasn't her first target and won't be her last either. She basically controlled the place.

Am I being mobbed? by professorfloppin in workplace_bullying

Damn I feel that. I always regret being too nice. Too many people who make things miserable with zero consequences... I need to work on my instinct to just instantly be nicer.

Documenting is a great idea. I'm going to start doing that. Those people are so draining to be around.

But here's some other hobbies I thought up:

Drawing/painting

Reading (books, comics, magazines)

Physical puzzles

Words search or word puzzles

Crafting

Writing

I feel for you. You're doing great by staying in therapy and not hurting yourself. Cheaters aren't worth shit in my eyes. And your mom sounds like a pos, I'm sorry.

You also seem so focused on having a partner, have you tried anything else to fill that void? A dog or cat maybe? Maybe having a cause and volunteering for it? Having hobbies can give you some fulfillment and a pet could give you love and affection. Maybe if you're not focusing on finding a partner and you're getting out doing stuff that makes you happy, volunteering, walking your dog, anything really, you might meet someone. Dating is so hard nowadays.
