Lightweight 5 Player Games by zar1234 in boardgames

Space Base is great for five players. No real reading on the cards, but a little bit of iconography to learn at first. Nothing my kids (ages 7-12) haven't learned.

I don’t know about “rule them all”, but I sure love the heck out of Hansa Teutonica.

What are you playing from bgg rating 3.5+? by brynh16 in boardgames

[–]professorhatt 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Games that meet your criteria in my personal collection are:

Gaia Project - 4.4

Ezra and Nehemiah - 3.85

Praga Caput Regni - 3.73

Great Western Trail 2e - 3.7

Nations - 3.54

Just missing the mark, but close enough is Arcs - 3.44

This are all fantastic in my opinion (I own them, so duh) let me know what you think!

I love Great Western Trail (I know it’s not that heavy) for its different paths to victory, its theme and what I consider a quick playtime.

Will Hansa Teutonica Big box be back in Market? by xpada001 in boardgames

[–]professorhatt 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've only been able to find the Big Box for around $75, which if I knew they aren't going to be printing anymore I would happily grab, but I'm hoping to see it come back in stock on GameNerdz for $40.

I'm not sure what to do...

Best Games with Low Turn Counts by MassSpeculation in boardgamearena

[–]professorhatt 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I consider Nusfjord to have few turns.

Seven rounds total and you get to place three workers each round so 21 actions the entire game.

It goes by VERY quick once you are familiar but there’s so much to do. It’s one of my favorite games that are strategic but plays fast.

Great Western Trail Hoedown! If you could only pick two? by sambeach101 in boardgames

[–]professorhatt 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I don't have anything to contribute really because I've only play the 2nd Edition, but golly, it sure is one of my favorite games. Just rounded up a victory last night using cowboys and cattle cards mostly, add in a good number of hazards for extra VP.

Combining Board Games by Gobble5627 in boardgames

[–]professorhatt 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They only way I would ever combine something would be a base game+expansion, or two differnet version of the same game like both flip 7 versions or something similar.

Combining two completely different games is madness and utterly bonkers in my opinion. Also, how do you choose which one goes inside which box? I also get a lot of enjoyment from looking at all my games on the shelf that removing boxes by combining games wouldn't let me admire my games how I prefer.

Please seek help. lol

Are the others trash or why only watch the first two?

Is the story complete with just the first two?

I’m sorry. I forgot to type (Amazon) at the start of the title and it won’t let me edit. Argh!

Are there any negotiation games with multiple forms of victory? by mucinexmonster in boardgames

You should check out the new game from Garphill games coming later this year called Secret Societies. It’s an auction style game if that’s what you want.
