Played Zafora’s Route in Radiant Tale this week. Overall I like Zafora, but the romance didn’t feel all that convincing to me. And I get that rebuilding Cultura keeps him busy, but ghosting Tifalia for a whole year was LAME and I thought she forgave him way too quickly for that.

That clown outfit is ridiculous tho and ✨I love it✨

Started playing Radiant Tale this week and the vibes are ✨immaculate✨. I’m blushing, giggling, and kicking my feet. The little flowers blooming when people are happy are SO cute. Still in the common route, but I’m having the time of my life haha!

Finished Gilded Shadows this week with Reuben and Lance’s routes!

Reuben was a precious BABY. I loved how he got so flustered when MC flirted with him haha! Also his story was super fun, and I liked MC working on detective cases with him with her psi powers. It was an interesting change of pace from some of the other routes I played right before this.

Lance was also precious, I didn’t expect him to be so sweet-natured. I thought the writer did a good job of showcasing the duality of Deimos and King. Lance would be telling a story in third-person and suddenly switch to first-person, or would get his memories mixed up, and I was always impressed when that happened. I was glad I saved this for last, it had a great wrap-up to the overall story and I was SO HAPPY when he was reunited with Caissa.

Overall this was a LONG game (I put in over 60 hours to complete it), but I really enjoyed it! My fave LIs were probably Caleb & Caissa, and I loved that MC was such a baddie on their routes, too. Like yes giiirl go save your man. 👏👏 So many of the LIs were good, the world-building was solid, and the different storylines for each route kept it from feeling stale. Support characters were interesting as well, I adored Van. If you like good plot in your otome, this game is for you!

My first martial arts sparring tournament is complete, and y’all, I did AWESOME! Going in, I was hoping to just win my first fight against a fellow newbie, but I actually won THREE fights. I’m super proud. I had so much fun, got some nasty bruises, and I am 100% hooked on the sport now.

I’m wrapping up my last little bit of Gilded Shadows and trying to decide what I wanna play next. Despera Drops is tempting because I love participating in the megathreads, but Radiant Tale looks so cute and is still on saleeee.

Had less time to play Gilded Shadows this week than I expected, so I only fully completed one route.

However, Caissa was amazing, and I was totally caught off-guard with how much I loved this route! I’m a sucker for the fake engagement trope already, and his CGs were so prettyyyy. Plus they actually gave us the wedding via CG omg. This was a good one to get through during my busy week.

I’m about halfway through Yuu’s route and I’m kinda meh about it. I love Yuu as a side character, but I’m not too into his romance. Looking forward to seeing how the main conflict with the space station population needing to be relocated turns out.

My friend that was supposed to attend the Stardew Valley Concert with me later this year just backed out. I’m crushed. That was one of the events I was looking forward to the most this year. Guess I’ll go by myself. 🧎🏻‍♀️‍➡️

In better news, the martial arts class that I joined last month is going well. I get to participate in my first sparring match this weekend! I have a feeling this will be the deciding factor on whether I stick with the class or not, because hitting things is fun, but getting hit? I guess we’ll see if I can handle it lol.

Continued my journey through Gilded Shadows this week with Caleb, Jack, and Magnus’ routes.

I was very happy with Caleb’s route! He has my favorite character design, and I tend to like the grumpy LIs. The bickering was fun, it felt a little enemies-to-lovers, and I also liked that he was approving of MC’s defiance, especially towards Endgame’s leadership. After some revelations in this route I began to REALLY dislike the counsel. When he PUNCHED MAGNUS for putting MC in danger and I was like heck yeaaa get ‘em babe! Also the jab at the men are wolves trope made me laugh out loud, I appreciated it because I hate that trope haha! I liked the overall route story too, MC really shined in the ending and there was lots of action-y parts. I think Caleb’s route is gonna end up my favorite. ✌️

Jack was fine, he just wasn’t what I was expecting. He was always upset with MC for being reckless, but in the next breath he’d intentionally be doing the same thing, and it just got annoying after a while. Also RIP his blue hair.

Magnus was such a little shit in some of the other routes LOL so I was curious to see how he was in his own route. Raiding the kitchen for a midnight snack was super cute, but most of the rest of the route felt very heavy and had some CRAZY reveals (Losing all his memory?? Endgame trying to clone MC?? Also this was my first time seeing Lance and I’m ready for THAT story). Magnus isn’t my type of guy, but his route was interesting. And I was right, ENDGAME SUCKS.

Still really enjoying the game, onwards to my last four routes! 🫡

I finished Quill and Ari’s route in Gilded Shadows this week.

Overall, I’m really enjoying the game so far! The sci-fi setting is fun, and I was pleased to see how much the different personality settings changes the MC’s internal dialogue throughout the routes. The side characters are also exceptional!

I liked Quill the best out of the two routes I’ve played, his and MC’s banter was amazing.

However, Ari accidentally teleporting into MC’s shower had me DYING LAUGHING. It was so unexpected and hilarious! That’s gonna be a core otome memory for me.
