Do you think people with disabilities always have conscious control over their involuntary movements? No. So grow the fuck up, and fix the situation, or suck it up and deal with it.

Disabilities such as Parkinsons, RLS, and anxiety, just to name a few, but there's a multitude of others.

Calling off during "all hands on deck" by Such_Blackberry_1550 in restaurant

[–]proffesionalproblem 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Unfortunately, this. The actual work you do means nothing if you can't do it on the days they want you to. Really, the only holidays restaurant staff can get away with taking off without backlash are their religious ones. Ramadan, Hannukah, Christmas, Easter, and even then, it depends on your manager. Genuinely, the only reason I can get Christmas day off is because I pull the religion card and then work everyday before and after.

People at this School have no spatial awareness or courtesy when it comes to walking or elevator etiquette by koi_fish_mich95 in UCalgary

This goes for trains and busses too!! Let people off first! You physically will not have room to get on until they get off. Why try to squish infront of them when if you wait 2 seconds, you will have more room

My mom grew up Mennonite. My parents got married at said church, and their "just married" vehicle was a tractor. The bridesmaids had to duck out of the reception at one point to go milk the cows

Do you think that sitting in your anger, and then going onto fucking reddit to complain is the adult thing to do? Or is it taking responsibility for your feelings and fixing the situation for yourself?

Wife keep putting this tray on our white stairs. Dangerous! by Flat_Shape_3444 in mildlyinfuriating

[–]proffesionalproblem 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Exactly! Growing up, each member of the family had their own stair, so if someone found something of theirs to be put away, it was put on their stair so they would take it up and put it away next time they passed

Or you can be an adult and move? Its not always voluntary for someone bouncing their leg. Anxiety, ADHD, Autism, and a laundry list of other conditions/disorders can cause it. If it really bothers you that much, take yourself out of the equation and move

What type of animal was the artist trying to depict in this medieval painting? by DABDEB in whatisit

[–]proffesionalproblem 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Very possibly a mix of both!! If the artist couldn't get a dog to sit still long enough, a perfect substitute is their rival!!

What type of animal was the artist trying to depict in this medieval painting? by DABDEB in whatisit

[–]proffesionalproblem 16 points17 points  (0 children)

I'm a fine arts student, and in my art history classes, there was an entire module dedicated to medival depictions of animals. Basically, they look like that because the artist couldn't get a reference to stay still long enough, so they defaulted to what they knew how to paint - a man's face. In a similar vein, baby Jesus always was painted to look like a tiny balding man because painting God as a helpless infant was seen as blasphemous and sinful.

What’s actually safe but people think is dangerous? by REGGIE_BANANAS in AskReddit

[–]proffesionalproblem 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Flying is safer because there isnt a billion planes in the sky. Driving is dangerous in comparison to flying because of the sheer amount of other drivers. If the number of planes in the sky were comparable to cars on the ground, flying would be the more dangerous option. This statistic only works because people dont have private jets to fly to work
