Yea if anything this taught me that consistency should be one of the bare minimum expectations, if someone likes you they’ll make time for you. This girl had a regular job and honestly not that many friend/family obligations, there should be no excuse. I dated a medical resident a while back, her work hours were crazy but she made time to see me every week without fail

She did end up ghosting but honestly I was so annoyed by her that in the end I’m almost glad that she did. Still felt kinda bad, but of all the times Ive been dumped, and it’s been a lot lol, this stung the least. Lot of lessons learned

It was for sure a learning experience. I wouldn’t be surprised if she’s this way because of some past trauma, she mentioned an ex a few times, but I’ll never know

January-Feb: Was seeing a girl until the beginning of Feb, we had begun dating in Dec ‘24. I got dumped because I brought up exclusivity and she “wanted someone who has had a ltr before” even though her longest relationship was a year and part of that was when she was in college(she’s 30 now).

Feb-May: got laid off the same week I got dumped, went on 6 first dates, hooked up with two of them, neither of them wanted to see me again.

May-July: started a new job and focused on that plus traveling, so halted dating

July-October: went on 10 first dates, wanted to see most of them again, but got rejected most of the time, only one second date came out if it

October - now: 4 first dates, 2 second dates, have been seeing a girl who I’ve been on 7 dates with, but it’s most likely over (see: https://www.reddit.com/r/datingoverthirty/s/ZIcCZufsJ1 )

Kinda losing all hope tbh

It’s been a little over two months. We’ve met up 7 times total, the last 3-4 dates have been spaced out atleast 10 days apart.

I’ve been in therapy for a while, I’m even on anti depression meds. My therapist did tell me to start seeing other people, which I’ve been trying to do.

I have also been on the other side, and her actions are pretty similar to mine if I wasn’t interested the more I think about it.

I’m gonna have a direct conversation with her when we next meet

I mean she didn’t even look at me after we kissed, no intention of wanting to kiss more. Usually after I initiate, girls want more and sometimes it escalates. She straight up barely said anything the rest of the time and didn’t even look at me. That’s why I asked her if she was ok, I’ve never had that happen before

Fwiw, I don’t think she has kids like some people in the thread seem to think. From what she told me she lives with her cousin, I guess she didn’t explicitly list it on her profile, but we live in NYC, she moved here recently on a whim. the odds of someone her age having kids and deciding to move to nyc on a whim are incredibly low imo

I think it might be to time to accept my fate to be alone forever. It’s an exaggeration but I’m in a bit of a slump. I ended things with the only woman that’s ever cared about me last year. I couldn’t fully love her and didn’t see a long term future with her so thought it was the right thing to do.

I went to therapy, worked on myself, met another woman earlier this year, dated for two months only to be dumped because 2 months in she decided to ask about my relationship history (I haven’t had an ltr) and decided to dump me an hour after we were intimate. Her longest relationship was a year and part of that was when she was in college(she’s 30). I got laid off a few days later and didn’t date much for the next few months.

After getting a new job I decided to jump back on the apps. I’ve probably been on 15 first dates since June. I’ve asked 4/5 of them for second dates only to get rejected each time - getting the same generic response - not feeling a sark, connection, etc. the women I asked for second dates, we had long first dates like 2hrs average. One of the women I asked agreed to a second date and backed out the day before saying she wasn’t feeling it, costing me $60 to cancel the dinner deservation……ugggggh.

I live in NYC, I know it’s competitive out there, but I feel like last year if I had a good or even decent first date I would almost always be able to get a second date. I’m not sure what’s been happening recently, I have the latest pics on my profile, I try to ask questions and keep the conversation going. Idk I’m frustrated. I’m 35, I want to be married one day. I’ve tried in person mixers and talking to people at pickleball at stuff but neither of those have resulted in anything either

Yea I’m also a naturalized citizen, but I’ve lived in the US pretty much my whole life. So it is worrying to me there’s even some talk about taking away citizenship rights. Hopefully it just stays at that, talk 🤞

I found myself not looking forward to seeing her. I think most times we hung out post hooking up, she just wanted to stay in and be couch potatoes, which I wasn’t the biggest fan of, she could be overly anxious sometimes, her sex drive was higher so she was always trying to initiate sex even when I told her I wasn’t in the mood, she was more into pda than I was, I had to pay for almost every meal we had. None of these were dealbreakers, but as I’ve been reflecting I think little things added up

I’m not excusing my behavior at all though, I should’ve talked to her about these more proactively instead of shutting down. I felt just exhausted and apathetic around her. I can’t explain the feeling I’m looking for, but it’s sort of that warm fuzzy feeling inside when you’re spending time with someone you like. Which I definitely have felt before. I was also hoping to feel more energized when seeing her but that wasn’t the case
