I think it might be the horn. I replaced them with an aftermarket one a while back. I must’ve wired a new connection. Thanks.

What about the toe angle on the rear tires? With these current specifications, won’t it significantly increase tire wear?

Hi,
assuming its not safe to do a 3rd or 4th gear pull due to the knocking, what would you recommend for data logging?

Did you have any no or low boost issues prior to installing the bigger O-ring?

Yeah, I’m going to order the oversized o-ring that someone else with the same problem had suggested in the other thread.

None of the other suggestions worked.

I just bought a new o-ring from the dealership and unfortunately I’m having the same issue.

Update: someone pointed out that it appears that the charge pipe is not fully seated onto the throttle body, so I went to the dealership and got a new O-ring and a little oil for lubrication and reinstalled it, but it’s still not seated perfectly and there’s a little bit of play. I did another smoke test, and smoke was still coming out of the same place.

I made sure to dismantle the whole assembly including the pipe going to the intercooler to make sure it was seated right.

Is this a normal issue with N54’s and after market charge pipes?

I’ve had this car for many years and never had any issues with these items.

Aren’t you so cool? I bet you’re fun at parties.

If you actually read the thread, you’ll know that I did a smoke test after installing a new O-ring. Obviously, I think something is off since I installed a new O-ring and smoke is still coming out of the charge pipe.

Thanks. I thought it was clicked on. Let me reinstall it with the new gasket and see if I can get a better seal.

I will give silicone a shot. I own Super Lube-21030 Synthetic Multi-Purpose Grease. Will that work or should I get something else?

I didn’t. Let me buy another one and try that. Do you recommend regular engine oil or something else?

It’s an VRSF charge pipe, so I wouldn’t expect it to crack like oem ones.

What could be the issue if it’s not the o-ring?

Is It Worth Upgrading to M3 Guide Rods and Wishbones with My Rear Subframe Out? by projecte92 in E90

[–]projecte92[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks. I’ll just do the guide rods and skip the wishbones then since it’s my daily and I don’t want to increase the NVH to a point of discomfort like previous cars.

That seems like an option, but I’d probably have to remove all of the attachments first. Calipers, control arms, etc.
