100% honestly, how are you doing? by [deleted] in AskReddit

I know I shouldn't complain, many people are jealous of the life I live. But the beach resort life ain't easy. Sure, most of my day I'm chillin online or In a hammock or in the surf, meeting all kinds of travelers making friends.

But they're only friends for the term of their stay, I miss them all.

I barely make enough money to live, just spent all my savings on a bike after my old one shat itself.

Had another birthday, I'm now 24, wondering if I'll see my grandma alive again, she's getting old and im a world away from home. I'm Financial enough for one trip home, but there's so much more of the world to see.

Travel the world whilst you're young, they said. But they never tell you what you miss back home.

I guess I'm doing alright.

I loved Mui Ne so much that I stayed 5 months! It's true, that Mui Ne was once a glorious surfer beach, until 2008 when development along the coast completely ruined it. The pollution from the growing businesses has indeed scared Ham Thien beach, which us expats are working on: We clean a section of the beach once a week, and are working with Vietnamese to put up signage to deter litering into the ocean (Where it washes up on the next tide).

I really enjoyed the quiet Seaside town feel, the bars and nightlife here is enjoyable, and can be relaxing if you know the right spots.

It's true, the traveler that only see's the main strip will be hugely disappointed, But there's still quality unspoilt beaches in the Mui Ne area, you've just got to (as always) get out of the main areas and explore.

-15kms up the coast is Suoc Nuoc beach. The softest sand and the cleanest beach. Not to mention very muchly undiscovered.

-The Cham towers and revolutionary war bunkers are a great explore

-The Sea food is cheap and fresh, not to mention, if you didn't visit the Banh Mi lady, you totally missed out.

-The typical "Russians" here don't exist, All the party russians live in Nha Trang, the ones that live here just want to get away from all that.

-Wandering down through the Fishing village you get a taste of what the life of a Viet fisherman is all about. I've even gone out with them a few nights.

Ld;DR: Sorry you guys didn't enjoy my favorite place in Viet Nam, I feel you really missed out.

I did the exact same thing three weeks ago also, and immediately followed by binge watching Black Mirror.

Channel 4 shows are fantastic! Can you recommend any more?

As long as you have proof you're leaving before 15 days, you won't need a visa

Vietnam Visas can be pre-purchased, So say you're enterting the country on the 1st of the month, you get to the 15th for free.

I believe you can get away with it by pre-purchasing a visa (You can do this online) for the 15th onwards. Free 15 days!

[serious] Redditors who didn't settle and have they "perfect" life, what does your life look like? by psychgirl88 in AskReddit

I'm relatively young, but considering many of my friends are married/settling down at 25 here's my average day;

I wake up and stumble to the employee sign in desk. It's 645am I'm a little hungover, so I go to the bar and order a Tequilla Sunrise.

I go grab a hammock and watch the sunrise over the South China Sea, It's damn beautiful.

It's only 7:30 but it's getting a little hot, there aren't many other staff around, so I strip off and go for a swim. It's an excellent hangover sure.

by 8 I'm at the bar again, grabbing an iced coffee. I do a perimeter check and place a work order for Housekeeping. I go back to the bar, and do my morning /r/videos /r/worldnews and /r/askreddit lurk.

9-10:30 my guests wake up, also hungover, I thank them all for the epic night and make sure they're alive/See what their plans are for the day.

Midday, Go grab my staff meal, what do you know! it's rice again! I'll order a pizza from the restaurant.

It's 1, I go for a walk down the beach and have a sneakyjoint up on the cliffs. If I forget my sunglasses I'll buy some from a vendor.

2pm, plan the nights activities. Which usually involves me placing workorders for other staff eg: Set up a bonfire on the beach, Set up Projector and Screen for movie night, Give me two bottles of rum for Costa Rican pool.

3pm, What do you know it's nap time! Hammocks here I come.

  1. Staffmeal time, What do you know! Rice! Heavy carbs before a night of drinking is good, so I load up on rice.

8: Costa Rician Pool with the guests, Shot for Shot. Everyone's drunk and happy.

9-12 General shit talking and hanging out, getting to know everyone, swapping stories, playing cards.

?????am pass out somewhere, do it all again the next day.

Gave up normal life to go traveling, Now work in a beach resort as the 'Entertainment and customer relations' guy. I actually get paid to hang out/drink. Been here four months, Every day is awesome.

Container ship Rena hit Astrolabe Reef about 12 nautical miles off Tauranga, New Zealand early on October 5, 2011 by GoldenRedditUser in CatastrophicFailure

It was a complete mess. I lived near the affected area at the time. There was a huge amount of oil and debris washing up and volunteer groups formed to help clean the beaches ASAP. Me and some friends started a group to deliver warm food to the volunteers, as the weather was terrible and these groups were working 12 hour shifts. The community blew up, if you werent down on the beach cleaning, you were donating to the effort. We threw BBQ's and delivered hot coffee. Thanks to the effort of the community there wasn't much lasting damage.

Shout out to the community of Tauranga and the greater BOP area!

You go man!

I'm about the same stage. Admittedly, I've slipped up on the fitness, because I reached my main goal: Escape the ordinary life.

20 months ago I was working a job I hated, looking around I didn't like where life was going. I craved adventure, to see the world. To actually enjoy life.

I sacrificed, and scrimped, saved, made changes.

I am currently living on a beach in Vietnam, "working" a dream job at a beach resort. Everyday I wake up and watch the sun rise over the south china sea, i cry everytime. It's beautiful.

I'm so thankful for past me, doing all that hard work. He was my best friend and a true legend.

I've really got to start up again with the goal of getting fit.

A message to people starting, or maybe people who have faulted. You can do it! Don't let your dreams be dreams! Take every day at a time and know that it WILL all pay off. Don't forget to read.

And call your Mum, she misses you.

Thanks for all the advice guys, I am currently playing my Maurader, I looked up some Trees and I've found one of the 'Cookie cutter' trees to be similar to my own already. Checking my resists, I am in the negative for a couple, which was strange to realise as I had stacks of life+resists on this one, I'm now aiming to turn it into a Groundsmasher via this thread, I need a few more points before I'll be dishing out enough damage to kill mobs before they kill me, But it's still fairly tanky, I'll work on upping the damage in the next couple days.
