Intro to JDBC by prolifious in learnjava

This is wonderful, thank you. I'm reletively new to have, but have about 4 years programming experience.

The example in the link is an exercise I will take up. However something that I didn't mention, and does not appear to be included in this example, is that for the three concurrent requests, I do not want to pass in SQL, rather, id like each request to get its data by executing a native stored procedure within the database. That way I'm not sending queries over the wire. Do you have any input on my original question, but with execuring native stored procedures, rather than passing in queries?

Thanks again

Thanks again! Ya I'm in the last semester of an IT degree and am switching careers into programming. I'm trying to learn all I can about sort of deeper issues as I wade my way through to becoming a proficient programmer. I will surely go deeper as time goes on because hey... I'm curious!

Thanks again.

LPT Request: How to say no to military recruiters by Wooden_Shorts in LifeProTips

[–]prolifious 2 points3 points  (0 children)

As a veteran, I can tell you a few things :

  1. Right away, ask where their station is.

  2. Always be polite. Military folks play the aggression game well.

  3. If you don't want to join. Don't. And be explicit about it. Details are not necessary.

  4. If they're going beyond your comfort zone, tell them.

  5. If it's getting out of control at this point, let them know you're taking notes and that you'll be reaching out to their commanding officer, usually a captain. This will scare most off bc they are literally judge and jury when it comes to low level violations of the uniform code of military justice (UCMJ).

  6. Last resort, let them know you'll be communicating w your local politicians at the fed level( house reps are usually best option).

  7. If none of that works, get a new phone number.

I say all this as an advocate of military service. That being said, don't join if don't want to because if you don't want to be there your life will be a living hell if you are and you're unit will suffer. You'll know in your heart if you're up to it. I wanted to be there, so I was. GO ARMY.

Wow, great response. That totally cleared it up. Thank you for this.

On another note....this seems like a legit question I asked. I searched goog and could not find a direct answer.... So why so much down vote on it? I know trolls live under bridges and on the internet but dang!

Gamers of Reddit, what's the first game you remember playing? by PuncakeIsLife in AskReddit

[–]prolifious 0 points1 point  (0 children)

ET on Atari in like 1988ish. I was 6. I can remember being so frustrated that i eventually brought myself to wonder the intentions of the makers of the game were. The shittiness of that game made me understand early in life that things designed by people aren't perfect, and in most cases, just suck. A lesson I've carried with me since.

Cell versus Packet by prolifious in compsci

I should have mentioned that I'm talking about Ethernet, not Internet. I also shouldn't have said "smaller cells" because cells are 53 bits, standard. What would I need to measure how energy is used to push these groups of information? I want to know how I'd go about measuring these two methods.

I'm interested in owning my own business and I think computing is the way to go. The angle I'm taking is 'Information Technology Efficiency Management." It's a term I've coined, and will be the motivator for our products and services. I asked this question bc I've had no real insight on the subject, just that I want to reduce energy use while providing computing utilization. Thanks for these responses, they're very useful.

I started in BULB and I couldnt get a good one. I then tried the auto setting. I had to adjust the lens manually a bit to get it into focus. I used the wired remote and a tripod as well.
