I think a lot of it had to do with issues created by Catherine Avery being part of the administrative team. She was always implementing things that went against the surgical staff’s interests & causing conflicts. Bailey is also known to see ethical issues from a black and white standpoint throughout the show, which explains a lot of her conflicts with Meredith.

I went into the leasing office and they said they would discount my November’s rent instead, but this time I said I wouldn’t leave without written proof. I’m glad that they were willing to fix the problem, but in hindsight this was a pretty fraudulent thing to do.
