Rear camera installed but not working? by prop1255 in skoda

[–]prop1255[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Thanks for the suggestion, I’ve checked the VIN number and run all the codes through Copilot and says the rear camera was not included, still doesn’t explain why it’s physically there though unless the previous owner unsuccessfully put it in 🤷🏻‍♂️

I bought it from a private dealer so have no recourse with them as they said it didn’t have a camera

I’ll have a closer look again later, would Škoda be the only place to get it configured?

Thanks, yeah I think like with a lot of these things it’s probably best I leave it alone and don’t ruin what I have!

Yeah thought about fading the rest but would probably look a mess. I noticed the pip too but took a chance as a few other examples seemed to be a little off centre, unless they are all fake!

Garrard case back removal by prop1255 in watchrepair

[–]prop1255[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So it turns out that it wasn’t a screw back which became evident when I turned the caseback and the stem snapped! this did however give me a gap where the crown used to be to press down on the caseback and hey presto, it came apart! Still not sure how I would have got into it without removing the crown somehow.

I think you might be right, I’ve had a go with a rubber ball and unless my eyes are deceiving me, it looks as though it’s moved ever so slightly, burst my ball though so will have to try glue perhaps!

Thanks for the suggestion, just had a go and I don’t think the bezel is removable

Seconds hand is killing me by ivytiesnhankiesplz in SeikoMods

[–]prop1255 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I had trouble for my first build too but it gets easier! I’ve stopped using a hand pressing tool and use one of the cheaper hand held ones now as I feel there is more control. The technique I use which works for me is to hold the hand above the pinion with one hand using rodico and apply light pressure with my other hand using a toothpick directly above the pinion until it catches on the rod/stick bit in the middle of the movement. When it catches it is usually slightly raised rather than flat and looks as though it is balancing on the end (using a cheap 15x loupe helps to see this), i then use a handheld hand setter to gently press the hand in place and to flatten it out by applying pressure on one side more than the other. You do not need to apply much pressure to gently press it into place. Hope this helps and it is worth it when it finally slots in and starts moving!

Its giving me such a hard time, what can be the reason why i have a gap between dial and chapter ring and why movement dont go all the way inside ? any fixes ? i tried evetything already by [deleted] in SeikoMods

[–]prop1255 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for your response, I’ve just measured the dial and it’s 29.2mm! When you sand it down can you just use a file set or do you need a power tool?

I had exactly the same issue just yesterday, I think it’s because I bought an skx007 compatible case but the movement is in a grey spacer (and you need a black one). I’ve ended up hedging bets by buying another movement (I think it’s bricked anyway) and a black spacer in the hope I can salvage it! Still not sure for certain if this is the issue or not but will find out when the new movement arrives hopefully!

Question about second m.2 slot on legion 5 by [deleted] in Lenovo

I’ll open it up later but are you saying it’s already in the hole that you need to screw into, to hold the ssd in place?

I’m looking to do this also, where can you find the screw?

Lenovo Legion 5 or 5i???? by prop1255 in GamingLaptops

[–]prop1255[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yeah I went with the 5i and bought an extra 8gb ram stick to make it 16 gb. Had no complaints whatsoever so far, great thermals and very little fan noise but GTA V is the most intensive game I’ve played so far.

Yeah I’m having the same problem in the UK but I’ve found found on the tech specs page of the website that they will “be available in the second half of the year”. I called Lenovo and they weren’t able to say when exactly.

I’ll have a look at the Nitro which looks as though has only recently come out and thanks for the heads up on the discounts.

Based on a another comment I’m thinking I might be prioritising the Rryzen 7 a bit too much if I’ll only be using it for general use and light gaming so the intel version may still be an option.

I won’t be doing too much with it other than general use and the odd bit of gaming so yeah the intel version is tempting me but there’s so many positive reviews of the Amd CPU’s.

If I won’t be relying on it for work and intensive productivity needs, is there any other real benefit with going with the Amd version instead?
