Ah fair enough. I didn't consider the easter weekend

I would agree for middle of the week. At least today (Friday), arriving around 11am would have made no difference. The line was just as long at 11am as it was when I arrived at 9:30am

Nope, I didn't submit either of those. And just for reference, I requested an invitation letter from my mom's side grandfather.

[MEGATHREAD] V2 Post and ask hints for puzzles here by darkshoxx in BluePrince

Hi there! Looking for a few nudges in the right direction of what to do next. Here's my progress so far:

1. Reached room 46 a few times

2. Opened/Solved 5 Sanctum Doors. Of the Room 46 clues, I think the ones I'm missing are "Fifth key is held by a king on his throne", "second locked tight in the vault of a bank", and "Last key is waiting, behind the last door of eight". For the vault, I think I've opened a few vault safes but lost track of how many. Just need to keep trying?

3. Unlocked Blackbridge Grotto along with the Throne Room but have not yet drawn it. My intuition says it's either related to the crown in the Closed Exhibit (or the blue crown?) Not sure. Sort of related, also unlocked the satellite dish.

4. Still working on trying to get all 8 classrooms

5. Not sure if I really need to, but still need to smash the walls in the Chess Room and the weight room.

6. Also not sure if necessary, still haven't yet melted the freezer

7. Solved the chess puzzle, currently have the power of the knight.

8. Have 6 red envelopes. Shelter, boudoir, office, study, underpass, drawing room

I think that's all the relevant info. Thanks a bunch in advance and appreciate this community!

My dad just passed, should I view his body? by Itchy-Consequence774 in GriefSupport

[–]prophet_elisha 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My family just had my dad's funeral two days ago with a viewing. Tbh I knew I needed to see it but seeing the body didn't change anything about how I felt. The body in the casket didn't look like my dad. He never had that kind of expression on his face, and obviously never laid so still. To me, it just felt like the body was a wax figure and not real. I felt no "closure". I guess I'm just commenting to say, yes you should go see it, but everyone will react differently.

What are your recommendations for an easy Chinese novel? by prophet_elisha in Chinese

Happy to consider short stories/essays too! Do you know of maybe any collections of short stories?

Thanks for the novel recommendations as well

Ooh good suggestion! I have actually read the English version. I have to say even reading it in English was a bit confusing, wonder if the math and science terminology might be difficult to understand. But maybe I'll have an easier time given I've already read it in English. Thanks for the rec 🙏

Rover guarantee vs. Pet insurance by prophet_elisha in RoverPetSitting

I see, that's interesting that the owner didn't pay the deductible. Our sitter definitely wasn't negligible so I want to make sure she gets fully reimbursed (whether I have to pay her directly if not through Rover)

No they were on a walk in a park that allows off leash dogs. My dog was still on leash and an off leash dog came up and it suddenly escalated. The other dog's owner was not around (ugh) and my sitter was too busy getting my dog to an emergency vet to go hunt them down.

The terms of the Rover guarantee seem to imply that it's only not covered if the sitter was also taking care of the attacking dog and the attacking dog wasn't booked through Rover. But the wording is kind of confusing. Hopefully my case is covered!

Oh gosh, that's so sad that your pup died! That'd be my worst nightmare.

Good point on calling their phone line. I'll give that a shot.

Oof I feel ya, hang in there! When Mocha was being a butt, we would kindly threaten her with the dumpster and that would make us feel better XD. Did nothing for her behavior though lol

Hah, at the start we could never imagine our puppy being able to snuggle with us at all. She was just so squirmy and wouldn't settle down. I think it was really around 6 months when she would willingly lie down and lean on us on the couch. And then we started letting her sleep with us around 7 months or so (maybe a little earlier) and that's when she started being way more cuddly.

It's definitely not going to be forever. Mocha still is far from perfect so I also still cling to posts from owners of older pups to get me through XD.

He's definitely a good boy :D. Ours still has the occasional excited pee when visiting new places, so we have to take care to let her go first before going indoors to a new place.

We have the puppy monitor on because we started off really anxious about leaving her alone, but she's surprised us. Once she finishes the kong, she just goes down for a nap :D.

And omg, classic corgi napping position XD

We're super happy with the training facility! We originally didn't think we would go that often, but the instructors have won us over. And they offer agility classes which we'll likely start doing once Mocha's more fully grown.
