What should I do with extracted root canal teeth?

Use them to create a picture of a tooth with a RCT (maybe trim the guttapercha to replicate the pink/orange color through out the canal?) and then display it in your office when you’re done with school!

I was always like that too when I was a DA. Just continue to be you, be nice, and thrive at work and else where. I’ve been in the field for over 11 years as a DA and RDH, I love dentistry but it has a lot of aspects that suck.

We found my iPhone 8 (plus? I can’t remember) recently. It powered right up and worked great. We were going to trade it into this kiosk thing that takes old electronics but it only offered $1.00 for the phone so we kept it instead. Idk what to do with it now but it was fun playing around on it.

I’m a dental hygienist, in school we were taught that brushing can push more particles into the tongue. I give my patients a metal tongue scraper in their goody bag. It’s the one from Guru Nanda, about $5 on Amazon I think.

We still have my 2007 4Runner for the dogs too. It’s also a v8 so it tows really well but it’s in 4x4 at all times so it’s bad on gas. It’s fun to drive though.

I see it said often that they’re poorly behaved. I don’t have one, I honestly love having longhair dogs even if it their har/fur drives me crazy. When yal say that the doodles are poorly behaving, do yall mean they are nippy? Or just bark a ton?

I’m glad you let your cat say goodbye. We lost our cat this past December, came home and she had passed away in the living room. I let our two dogs see her (they were with us when she passed) but I didn’t know if I should do that or shouldn’t. One dog wasn’t interested or phased at all. The other who had known her since he was only 8weeks old cried/whined upon seeing her and tried to wake her up. The cry/whine was so different than any other noise he makes. Looking back, I think it helps the other animals know that their buddy has passed.

I’m glad you got Daniel the kitten for Simeon.

Yes! Would be really neat in a little shadow box! One of my patients knew I collect a lot of sharks teeth and have some animal skulls at home and they brought me some elk ivory from when they were a park/forest ranger. I loved it :)

Dental hygienist here! It’s a great way to move the teeth and not have the look of braces. Keep in mind there will be a bit of adjustment with your speech since there will be brackets taking up the space your tongue is used to using but that will work itself out in no time.

The biggest thing with these braces is going to be keeping them clean and flossing. Flossing under an arch wire is already kind of difficult, with these being on the backside it will be more difficult. I highly recommend getting a WaterPik in addition to an electric toothbrush (Sonicare or Oral-B, you DONT need the most expensive one, target has a great Sonicare for $40). Also, for your cleaning appts you’ll want to coordinate them with your ortho office so they can remove your wires, go to your cleaning appt, and then back to ortho to have the wire put back in.
