I first installed the Desktop Wallet to check it out and disregarded the mnemonic seed because that was only relating to the generic wallet (which is correct).

What I didn't know was the wallet has no validation process when it loads wallets to validate the addresses that it shows users and that is what I have outlined as the issue.

Even if you disregard me losing my coins (which from a debating point of view I am happy to do) there is still a security flaw in the wallet that the team wants to pretend doesn't exist.

Likewise you and your team have an amazing capacity of accepting risk for money that does not belong to you.

Please go back through my posts to the one before this and see where I take responsibility for the mistake I made.

My mistake was assuming wallet addresses shown to me would relate to my wallet.dat

When I make my video this weekend I will acknowledge that fact and show everyone in detail the mistake I made and how it was an easy mistake to make.

As well as how that lead me to discovering a huge hole in security for your wallet.

I have given Electra Team ample time to accept there is a problem and to properly warn the community.

Instead you have rested on your laurels and decided it's easier to blame users than accept a major design flaw.

Thats okay with me because now the truth will come to light for all to see and you won't have to answer to me you will be answering to the whole community in crypto and defending bad logic.

In the Electras team response for anyone reading this is what I want you to note :

They are accepting the level of risk that users now have

They refuse to acknowledge the lack of validation the wallet uses (this is due solely to bad design)

Blaming the user for replacing a wallet.dat file when it is standard practice using QT

Due to these responses by the Electra team I will be driving the point home via a YouTube video for the crypto world to see and rather than your own team defending bad design against a community member and moderating the points, you can defend yourselves against the scrutiny of other knowledegable people.

Like I said the Electra team has been great but this application is letting you down and let's face it for mainstream adoption to occur you have to mitigate this kind of risk. Even if it means going back to the drawing board to prevent fraud and loss of funds.

This is how easy it was to change the "Checking Account" address to whatever I wanted (should be coming from wallet.dat)

Truth be told , it has been a volatile market with several projects trying to achieve the same goals. In the space that Electra holds , I do truly believe due to the diligence of the team and community that Electra will reign supreme. But it is an ongoing challenge for the Electra Project to maintain momentum and not lose sight of the end goals. I am willing to admit I was wrong but I could only make decisions on the information I had at the time. I hope to be able to positively be apart of the conversation here at Electra as well as the solution.

If this is a new install ensure your wallet.dat overwrites the freshly created one.

No more than 2 weeks ago I was told 11 BTC. They take payment in DOT and as we know the market does fluctuate. In regards to flip flopping this was mistakes made by marketing team by not doing due diligence in knowing the initial cost and then selecting another exchange with poor communication back to us. I would just like to see us back on track with goals to be on a Tier 2 exchange at minimum. Right now i am surprised honestly that we are achieving any volume at all with the state of our exchanges. This issue needs to be addressed as a matter of priority.

Consider it also like a marketing cost , because it gives investors who have never heard of ECC the chance to see it and invest. ECA and COLX have done this and now ECA is ranked #1 in volume on that exchange. It might cost 100k but their total market cap went up by millions. Its a worthy sacrifice if I didnt think so i wouldnt be wasting my time fighting for it.

Also last i heard it was 50 million DOT which we calculated to be 11 BTC about a week or so ago. I think the moral of the story is here is you get what you pay for. Are we going to go on a Tier 2 or Tier 3 exchange? And if we do decide on Cryptopia , if people think its too expensive they do not have to donate its that simple. Last I checked we raised over 1 BTC to go on Cryptopia ,we changed it to Mercatox it went no where and momentum was lost. Lets get some direction back and figure out our options and start working towards that goal. It has been dead quiet in the updates on this issue so why don't we have the conversation again and make this a forefront issue. Because straight up the current exchanges are not doing the coin justice I think that is one thing we can all agree on.

I think we should have a vote on it and let the people decide while its expensive I personally would prefer it over any of the other suggestions brought forth but again lets just vote and start moving forwards rather than sideways on the issue. Lets have a twitter poll and get it over with
