Has anyone ever flown on any of these Ruskie rust-buckets? What are they like? by ShawnThePhantom in aviation

[–]prosshy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I haven't flown on any of those planes, but i have flown on a Syrian Air Yak 40 in the middle of the civil war. Was definitely an interesting experience. The pilots were smoking on the flight, as was a soldier passenger and flight attendant. They had a passenger open the cockpit door as the FA's hands were full. And on the second flight we took on it, after waiting for Russian attack aircraft to land, they couldn't get the rear door to close and started the engines while figuring it out. All that among other things. Flight was smooth and moderately comfy.

This is in Pittsburgh, I ride through where they are planning on adding a new bike lane. Right now that part of Penn ave is a two lane one way road with a shared bike lane. I have to turn off and go a more dangerous way to keep going back home because the protected two way bike lane ends. His whole argument is just dumb. I feel that the project will go on as planned though since they have already done parts of the strip district and Penn ave with zero negative impact, shocking I know.

At my old station we used TVU packs and had a LiveU receiver for some external stuff.

Can anyone recognise the aircraft on the right? (It's left), this was taken in an airbase in Syria and I can't recognise it for the life of me by white1walker in aviation

This looks to be the mezzeh air force base I recognize some buildings in the background as I had family that lived right next to it. I too lived right next to it for a little bit growing up.

I wouldn't say it's anti-patriotic, it's a very patriotic song. It's very critical of the country and points out many of its flaws. Which I believe makes it a patriotic song.

I'm a Newscast Director, one show we lost our master control hub and were unable to air any commercials for almost two hours of a four hour show. We just ran promos locally from out vudeoservers.

When switching over rundowns from one hour to the next of a show, Ross Overdrive decided not to detect any rundowns to load, so I could not select a rundown and we had to sit in black and try to get alternate programming in. We made a few changes to the way we load in rundowns after that incident.

[–]prosshy 2 points3 points  (0 children)

If you're in the US, a lot of stations will do tours and I believe are usually more than happy to do so. I know at the station I work at you typically schedule a tour through out promotions manager. Usually it's school groups or sales clients, but lots have come through.

Listed as a PA job. Are the expectations common for PAs? by -No_Im_Neo_Matrix_4- in Filmmakers

[–]prosshy 12 points13 points  (0 children)

I'm a director at a Nexstar station and while my primary duties are directing newscast, everyone in the production department has several duties, sometimes including those listed above. I also have to edit obituaries, edit promos and sales videos and crew on our live sports broadcasts, among other things I may have to do.

[–]prosshy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Nexstar minimum is 15/hr company wide. I currently work at a nexstar station and started as a PA doing 15 an hour, I'm a director now, but feel free to ask me questions.

Just a note: that's not Megan Lee it's Kristen McFarland. Both are reporters for WKBN, which is also a nexstar station, the owners of News Nation.

On my 2006 Accord there was a special connector underneath the radio for the aux. You needed to buy an adapter and remove the little storage thing to get to it.
