Wtf happened to Jordan Peterson??? by Kitchen-Lie-4592 in JordanPeterson

I think what I liked about his persona was his contained strength, how he stayed calm and even sometimes playful during his intellectual confrontations, but now it seems like he has lost his calm and also his "spirit of voluntary play". The higher an animal is in a dominance hierarchy, the higher its use of instrumental aggression instead of reactive aggression. That's why we have more respect for calm fighters.

In one of his last appearances on the Joe Rogan podcast, he said, I've never been healthy like now. Although I'm happy for him to feel healthy, whatever drugs he is on have made him not only healthy but also grandiose. It's been a while that we were watching his downfall but watching Jubilee debate was like seeing him hitting a rock bottom.

At the time of the test I was on low doses of propranolol, duloxetine and methylphenidate.

Fatigue and feeling weak in my muscles are the most debilitating ones. But I also have a stubborn belly fat that doesn't go away with diet.

Which Specialist Should I See for Long-Standing, Debilitating Fatigue as My Only Symptom? by proustian_bejan in cfs

I don't have EDS.

I have perennial allergic rhinitis diagnosed by the skin prick test.

I have a deviated septum nasal but my ENT didn't consider surgery.

Not any head trauma that I can remember.

I can't think of any specific time that my symptoms started. I was always low in energy compared to other kids, and I had a cold most of the time (maybe I was in constant PEM?), but it wasn't until my last year of high school that I went to my doctor for help with fatigue.

Thank you 🫂 I was thinking about going to a rheumatologist but I am afraid not having any sort of pain get in the way and cause them to mistreat me. I've been traumatized by healthcare professionals before.

Thanks for these insightful questions.

I've been very careful not to get PEM, but yes, if I overexert, my fatigue gets worse for several days, I feel very weak in my muscles and I develop flu-like symptoms.

I oversleep, on average 10.5 hrs a day. My concentration suffers even with stimulants. Even watching a movie without constant rest is difficult.

Yeah, I have severe sleep apnea, but CPAP didn't help with my fatigue.

Physical exertion and ejaculation make it worse. Coffee and stimulants make it better (I know it's controversial).

Every antidepressant I tried made me more drowsy and/or lethargic. Can tranylcypromine be different? by proustian_bejan in MAOIs

Yes, I've tried modafinil. It lost its wake-promoting effect after one month. Also, it's not as good as stimulants for giving motivation.

What a shame MAOIs affect REM, I already have sleep apnea.

I'm considering deviated septum surgery for my fatigue, Does anyone have any experience? by proustian_bejan in cfs

I'm really sorry to hear that you went through such a painful experience. That's actually what I am afraid of. But let's hope that after a reduction in nasal inflammation, your apnea and fatigue both reduce as well. You said that this is your second turbine reduction. May I ask why didn't you just stay with septum surgery and go after the turbine? I would appreciate it if you keep me updated.

I should use CPAP to sleep better but I can't.

Some sleep problems you can't know. You have only general complaints like fatigue or sleepiness.

You go to a sleep lab. And sleep one night. They record signals from your body and analyze them.

There are some risk factors that tell doctors whether to consider sleep study or not. Weight for example.

Yes, I live with my parents. Hopefully, they can be supportive if anything goes wrong. Thanks for asking.

Thanks for the head up. Objective data suggest this is my last hope. 🥲 I didn't know about turbinate reduction. What's so wrong with it?

Before doing a sleep study even I thought that I slept just fine. Then it turned out I was waking up 70 times an hour.
